Want something to make you laugh?

This was a quick put together band with no rehearsal that had to be on stage at 8pm on Saturday Nite, July 10, 2010 at Mountain Music Home. This is one of the songs I performed that night at the concert (Will the Circle Be Unbroken). We called ourselves the Kicking Country Band. I didn’t know the bass player nor the lead guitar player--had never played with them before. I had played with the drummer and the steel player. We had a blast and the crowd actually enjoyed the 2-hour concert! This was quick video footage, too close to the steel player and one speaker, and was captured just to ‘remember this quick event.’

Enjoy it and have a big laugh --- you'll feel better.... maybe.

Hey Ray,
You're sounding as sweet as ever. Considering it was unrehearsed you've all done a great job. How did the voice stand up after 2 hours?
Nice steel playing too.

Cheers,
Keith

When you have professional musicians in the same genre do you need practice?

The answer is obviously no

Great job good buddy

Sounded good here. I played several of your other videos and noticed that your wife does a pretty good job on the piano herself.

Ray, sounding great as usual! Your voice is always spot on and smile-inducing.

I'd like to sit in with a real country band someday with a pedal steel player like yours. The flavor he throws in really sets the tone.

Good show Ray.
Clearly noticeable none of you where first-timers on stage. Good eye-contact.
Too bad the sound of the guitar-player wasn't really audible most of the time in the video. From what I've heard he could play along with you and the pedal steel-player quite well.

Nothing to laugh about in this here video. Well done.
And yes...these kind of things do make me feel better

Trax, the steel player would be your best buddy if he heard that comment.

He's in his 50's ------ he's quite deceiving with his age by wearing that hat.

Maybe I should have started wearing a hat years ago.

Thanks Scott and Mike......... yeppers, that lead guitar player being only 17 and only playing 5 years is quite remarkable. Sure caught my attention.

Scott, he's a good steel player....... and I love steel. Steel can take a slow country song and just make it CRY CRY CRY......... several years ago (about the 1960's) when the Happy Goodmans (gospel group) hit the scene, they started recording in Nashville and were the first gospel group to use a steel guitar. Their fame shot up the ladder quickly for that and many other reasons.

It's hard to beat a steel...... i luv em.
