WARNING: gospel music link in this post.

Need another laugh?

Listen to this song I recorded in 1979. I was visiting family and the minister of music at church asked me if I would consider coming to the church on a Saturday afternoon and just sing and play until I got worn out. He said he would like to record my playing and singing and that we'd work out some arrangement for payment if church folks bought my cassette tapes and they would also offer them on their weekly radio broadcast. It was a very small town and I liked the folks at the church, so I consented to do it. I recorded about 3 hours, I guess, and then we were finished. When he asked me how much I would like to receive per tape that they sold, I told him not one penny. I told him to sell the tapes that he duplicated, or give them away, it made no difference to me.

This is one of the songs (WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE) that I recorded that day. Notice how much 'higher' my voice was back then as compared to now. Piano playing ain't quite as good as it was back then, by the way.

Here's the LINK

Enjoy and have a little chuckle................ I said a LITTLE CHUCKLE! No rolling on the floor laughing!

Darn you Mr. Thigpen

I laughed so hard I fell off my chair and broke my arm

Seriously, you were very talented back then and you’re very talented now. The only different is that you went from Tenor to Baritone

Thanx for sharing.

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

yep! Smoking will stretch those vocal chords................. down........... the wrong way.

When I was young I sung songs in the key they were written.
As the years went by I kept have to lower the key and lower the key....
now that I'm old, I sing them back in the original key ---- I just sing an octave lower.

No laughing here Sir, although if you had not told us I would have thought that was a younger grandson singing. Thanks for posting.

now that I'm old

You're old when you feel old!
My 83 years old grandma says: "Old? The devil is old."

I am 21 years old! Standing proud and enjoying life!

(.............I've been 21 for the last 18 years in row now )

BTW: Your voice hasn't changed all that much all together: You still sing the same way. Perhaps a tad lower, but hey....what the heck?

Smoking has nothing to do with it. I quit smoking in 1975. My voice has lowered considerably. I used to sing Run A Way in Am. Now NO WAY!

I’m glad you are still singing and playing the piano while you enjoy life. God bless!
