Newbie question here... I am working on a macbook pro, biab 2010.5 for mac, and I can't for the life of me drag and drop in the DAW mode. I am using Logic Pro, but it won't work in garageband or anything else. I have a feeling it is something really simple that I am missing, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I have a feeling that it is because I am running both the os and logic in 64 bit... Any thoughts?

Do you drag the track or the combo to the green "rectangle", before you drop them in Logic or GB? The yellow pop-up window in the right upper corner guides you when the track i ready for dropping.

Also remember: in Garage Band you have to drag tracks to the empty space (arrange) and not to an existing track. I'm running at 64bit too and haven't trouble. Bye

Well, it seems I was just being impatient... and didn't wait for the rendering to finish. Thanks for the help! BTW, it works in both 32 and 64 bit. Thanks again, I knew it was something simple!

Hi, with a little patience and some experimenting, you will find what a godsend this feaure is. I use it all the time in GB and Logic for figuring out rough arrangements. Each real track does have a different amount of regeneration time. You'll get used to it very quickly. Enjoy and TakeCare Bill

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but I find that apparently you don't have to put the application into the 'DAW' mode to render and transfer tracks. Just drag any track to the magic rectangle, wait for the rendering process to complete, and drag to your DAW. Exactly the same result as if you had entered the DAW mode and done the same thing, as far as I can tell. Does anyone know of a difference and a reason not to do it this way?

I guess it's just simpler to perform the drag and drop from BIAB to the DAW as the BIAB window is smaller when in "DAW" mode.

thanks for all the comments everyone- yes, I agree I think it is the size of the window makes it easier to drag to the DAW. I suppose if you you are working on a multiple monitor rig, it wouldn't make that much difference except for the distance you are having to drag it.
