Why does it take a WEEK to approve the artwork for a single?

I'm not impressed with CDbaby. All I've heard has been good stuff... but that ain't what's happened to me. They have my money, so I guess they'll approve the uploaded artwork when they're darn good and ready.

File me under NOT IMPRESSED!

I understand your frustration. That was not my experience at all; there was hardly any delay. Plus, years from now when checks come from them, and they have propagated your music to many other digital distribution sites, you will have forgotten about that little extra time upfront.

I don't remember any picture delay either... maybe they need to have CD covers reviewed these days ... I've seen a few that needed a rating at least.

Say; what'd you submit, anyway, that they feel the need to scrutinize?? <grin>
Just kiddin' ya Ray.
I really only recall waiting a couple days for a UPC code to be emailed so we could print it on the new batch of CD's. Other than that it went smooth as I could expect.

i submitted a song on July 14... they requested the same day that the file be provided in a different size and format (my mistake). I uploaded immediately. I'm still told today the artwork change has NOT been approved yet and for me to wait before hitting the APPROVE button to launch distribution.

I've sent 2 emails yesterday and 3 today... none have been answered.

got a phone call from Peter at CDBABY before noon today. He was totally apologetic about what had happened to my submission. He said what had happened to me was indeed RARE!

He has offered me a FREE SUBMISSION of a single or album at NO CHARGE!!

I thanked him, told him I felt it was fair. So, let's see where we go from here.

I'm thinking that is overkill on the email. Just saying. Sometimes you need to give folks time to respond to the first ONE.

i sent 1 the first day --- 5 days later it still had not been replied to.

The other emails I sent went to a different department that I had been directed to.

But the first one to the art department never got answered, until Peter stepped in today and even he said they would not have responded to it. Internal email they would have; but once they saw it was from a customer, it got ignored, and no one sought to resolve the issue --- except Peter.

And they did get a response for you, but I doubt that they got answered because of the number sent.

At any rate, I'll bet the art department doesn't ignore external email any longer.
