I understand that PG cannot put into effect everyone's wish list but I feel that to have a much better selection of solos (Real Tracks only) would enhance this fantastic product. It is the one thing that disappoints me about BIAB and I would like to know how such wishes are chosen because I havent seen any improvement yet...and by the way Im not a lead guitarist.Cheers Frankie

Absolutely it would, Frankie! The problem is when you go to the Wishlist and look at everybody's requests for different RT's it would probably take PG another 5 years to do them all. Each RT is a major production by itself. All you can do is add yours to the list and hope for the best.

Well, it IS an accompaniment program.. designed to do backing tracks to play along with. I was pleasantly surprised to see the solo stuff come out. Pushed it into the production program dept.

As Jazzmammal mentioned, there is quite a bit of behind the scenes work to make RT's. It'll take time.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Hi Tributeman!
I absolutely agree that a bunch more guitar solo realstyles would be great. The ones that are already there are brilliant but I feel like I have exhausted their possibilities (even using comp'd multiple takes and editing the results with Melodyne) and it would be great to see some new ones.

RT's are, however, difficult and time consuming to produce and I suspect that lead instrument tracks are harder to produce than rhythm instruments tracks. I and one or two others have posted suggestions for 'motif' based lead guitar RTs which would just provide hook type melodies rather than a full complex lead line. I think that these may be a bit easier to put together.

On the other hand, there are also many popular genres of music which don't yet have any RT rhythm tracks (Reggae, Funk, Motown, Punk, Indie Rock) and I guess that, if pushed, I would plump for some of those rather than more lead guitars (but it would be a tough choice - I would prefer both!).

I guess that we have to be patient and keep lobbying via the wishlists.

One thing that has been niggling me is that the wishlist forums (and in particular the styles wishlist) appear to be much less utilised than this general forum (the posts on page one of the styles wishlist have been there forever). Given this general inactivity I do wonder how often PG monitor that forum and how seriously they take it. Maybe we should be more active in posting to it?

Regards, Aubrey

Hi Aubrey,Nice to know there is another Brit here.PG Music has done a fantastic job for us entertainers and singer/songwriters.I do think it takes a lot of time (and money) to get those lead guitarists in the studio to cut more solos but Im willing to wait and hope some new stuff might come on line soon.Cheers Frankie

Shw mae Frankie, not only another Brit but also a Taff from Neath. But not THE Taff (Ray) Williams, speaking of lead guitarists
Yeh, BIAB is an essential programme for songwriters although I do not use the "Real" elements having worked with midi since the late'80's starting with the Yamaha QX 21, FB01 etc. Thank you PG Music for giving me a third hand!!

The wishlist is not supposed to be active, it's just a list of requests and in fact quite a lot of those requests have made it into the program. Patience Grasshopper Christmas is coming...

Hi Frankie,
I think that there are a few other Brits who frequent the forum. I believe that I officially form part of the 'southern softie' contingent!

Hi Davey,
I don't think that there are any 50's rock and roll bass styles in realtracks format. There are a few boogie realtrack styles and you may find something useful among them. Other than that it is probably worth trawling the BIAB midi styles for suitable bass lines (I can't see an obviously suitably titled style set so you may need to rummage through the 'Requested' style sets). I think that Notes Norton may sell some Rock and Roll Styles as well so worth checking out his website.

Happy hunting!

Regards, Aubrey

The accoustic rythyms are pretty nice, but agreed the electric rythyms just take up space that could be much better used.
