Finally got a new computer and a new input pre-amp box thingy. I hooked up the box today and when I pulled down the meter box to see the mic levels I got the error "Access violation at 004BBE36 in Module RealBand.exe. Read of address 000006EF at:004BBE36". The error box won't close. I forced it to end RealBand, restarted and it opened in the exact same place where I closed it - with the error box open. Any thoughts? Is this a windows 7 issue or is there an issue with something else? I did a search of all the error codes and didn't find anything on the forums or the site. Thanks for your help.

Make sure MS sound mapper is not chosen as an audio driver.

Okay, I restarted the whole computer and same thing happened when I opened RB. When I unplugged the USB cord for the box, the error went away and I was able to use RB. I plugged it back in and no error, but I'm not getting any sound. The box is registering that the mic is picking up the sound, but it isn't getting to RB. I have the driver for the device (Focusrite Saffire 6 USB) selected in the audio preferences. What other selections might I be missing?

Nice call John. I changed the setting to MME and picked the device and it is working. I had a similar setup on my desktop but had to use ASIO. Are there setup changes in the driver windows and such (check boxes like asio always on, etc) that I should be using, or not using with this new device?

Thanks again. You guys kick butt.

Cool!
First let me tell you that in RB & BIAB even though it says "MME" it's really the newer and much improved "WDM". PG just hasn't changed the label yet. WDM is better then ASIO unless you need ASIO. There are only two reasons to use ASIO:
1. If you are playing a soft synth in real time with a midi controller.
2. If you need multiple outs or ins and the WDM driver doesn't offer it. The ASIO driver may not offer more ins or outs either. Depends on the card.

I hope I'm not in the wrong place on your wonderful forum but

I just got an Access Violation 00406408 4E525352 at 00406408 when I tried to merge all tracks to a WAV file. The "merging the tracks window" is frozen. Any ideas please????

Hi lochorama,

It would be better to start a new post dedicated to your problem rather than piggy back on this very old one.

Please give us details of your set up. For example, what operating system, what sound card, what external things are plugged into your computer to be used with Realband, etc.

When we know a little more about your set up, people on these forums might have some ideas.

Regards,
Noel
