i have been wrestling with drum tracks this morning. I started out using the drum grid editer. I will develop a drum pattern and fill it in the appropriate places. But, when I click on a drum pattern to load, it shuts powetracks down completely.
So, I tried bringing a real drums track in and I did some cut and pasting to form a drum pattern from that. When I finished, powertracks crashed again.
Does anyone know what it may be?

What kind of system?
What drivers for audio and midi?
Did it work before and just start doing this?

I am sorry for getting back so late. I have been getting around the problem but now I really would like to use my drum grid editor. I just 5tried using it again and when I tried to save a drum pattern, PT crashed on me.
Here is my system:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
Processor Speed 1.82 GHz
Memory (RAM) 2048 MB
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Operating System Version 5.1.2600
As for drivers:
Asio4all
Microsoft Midi Mapper (This is the one I am using)
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
It did work before.

How are you loading a pattern?
I have never experienced this problem so I am trying to imagine what may cause it.
MidiMapper is probably the worse choice for midi (might as well use the MS softsynth directly)
I doubt that is the issue though. Suppose it's possible.
Your first post said it crashes when you save, the second says when you try to load.
Is it both?
Any clues on how you are doing it may help.

I'm sorry for being confusing. Maybe I am confused and saying it the wrong way. Anyway, it seems it started out crashing on occasion and progressively got worse. It began freezing when I would try to fill a track with a drum pattern after creating and saving it from the drum grid editor.
Yesterday, I tried to save one and it totally shut it down.
What is weird is that I have a basic beat saved that I developed a couple of years ago. I use it on most every song recording. I can fill that into a track with no problem. It seems it is when I use the drum grid editor I have the problems.
I hope this is much clearer to you.

Do you have the most recent update for your version of PT? http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windows_pt.htmThis sounds vaguely familiar as old fix. What version PT are you using?
