I've used BIAB for years, and I love Real Tracks, especially the "straight ahead" bluegrass styles.
One big problem: The Bluegrass Waltz RealTracks is even 8th notes, not swinging, and it is a dog. Even the example song (Nights in White Satin?) is...well, it ain't anything like bluegrass. The old midi BGWALTZ style (swinging 8ths) is perfect.
Is there any way I can change the "even" to "swinging" on my own for Real Tracks? I'm told "no" by tech support, but I also can't use this style as is and I assume other bluegrass players are in the same boat. I really want to have (and I assume other bluegrass players do also) a Real Tracks style that fits with classic bluegrass waltzes (like Kentucky Waltz, McHattie's Waltz, Cora is Gone etc.) as well as BGWALTZ does.

The Bluegrass Waltz RealTracks is a faster style, and Even feel, so wouldn't be useful for a slow swing waltz. Since we don't have a slow Bluegrass Waltz in RealTracks, the closest thing (other than MIDI style BGWALTZ) would be to - use the MIDI style BGWALTZ, but replace the following 3 players: (using the RealTracks Assign dialog) Bass track, replace MIDI with this------> 777:Bass, Acoustic, PopWaltz Ev 085 (A:simple) Piano track, replace MIDI with this------> 824:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Country Waltz Sw 085 Guitar track, replace MIDI with this------> 822:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Country Waltz Sw 085 And mute the drums. Thanks for the tips. I didn't have the exact RealTracks #s you mentioned (I checked with tech support and they were not sure why), so I used the tracks I did have to set up the following:
Bass>1106
Piano>1105 @ volume 50
Guitar>1109
Strings>1144 @ volume 30
This gave me a bluegrass waltz feel and some RT sound. Is there any way I can save these settings (like a style) to apply to other songs/.sgu files, or do I have to do this for each song individually? Note: I have not looked at your style/song since they are blocked on my (work) server, so I can check them out this evening.
Any chance that you folks will re-do the Bluegrass Waltz RealTracks, or issue a new one with the correct sound and feel?

Yes, you enter the StyleMaker, press the PATC button and then more, and then you can set ReaTracks #s, and Volume offsets for each track. and then save the Style.

Yes, when we make more Bluegrass RealTracks, we will do a slower tempo swing waltz RealTracks.
