I'm sure the brilliant minds at PG music have already thought of this, but just in case...
Since BiaB 2011 uses the Elastique algorithms for stretching, negating the need for the +/- files, the PG Music team could provide RealTracks downloads that are a fraction of their current size to users who are using BiaB 2011 and up on decent systems.
I'm currently finishing up downloading selected RealTracks from my upgrade purchase, and since I'm just going to nuke the +/- files anyway, all that extra data only increases my download times and storage size on disk of the installer executables. It would have been cool to download files about 1/3 the current size to get the same net effect once installed.
What do you think?

All the new RealTracks are provided only in the new, smaller format.
I would not be surprised if the existing RealTracks before 2011 were still provided in the older larger format, for those who still use older versions of BIAB or RB.

Yes, this is the case. PGMusic probably wants to keep supplying RealTracks to owners of older versions of the software, but I'm suggesting they create smaller alternate versions of the older RealTracks for owners of 2011 and above.
As someone (me) upgrading from the MegaPAK 2010 to the UltraPlusPAK 2011, I didn't need all those extra +/- files embedded in the executable installers.

This raises an important point. Can a user of a version before 2011, purchase and use the new RealTracks with success? Would they be limited to only the original key and tempo of each RealTrack?

Peter replied in another thread that the new RealTracks require BIAB 2011. Someone wanted to buy one of the new RealTracks packs (for $29), but use it with BB 2010, and Peter stated it would not work.

That's really a very good incentive for folks to upgrade to version 2011 going forward.

Just an observation...as with 2010.5, it's about to the point that PG Music could provide the engine upgrade for free and let the RealTracks drive the revenue generation.

This isn't the first point where RealTracks weren't entirely backwards compatible. I've got BiaB 2009.5, and I got a couple RealTracks this summer. They mostly worked, but I had to fiddle with a couple of the directories, because it looked like instead of copying files to the directories, there were not redirectors of some sort.
