One last issue before I od on ver 2011; is it possible to copy the exe for BB and real band to the original 2010 ultr hard drive or is that a paper wieght from this point on. Not a full computer nerd so this might be a simple answer and would be nice to use it on my full up old ,like me, Hp pavilion 6000 laptop Thanks Stan

You can install the program to the existing external drive, no problem. I did.
Make sure all your realtracks are on that drive also.
You can't just 'copy the executable' though, you have to install it to the drive.

There is NO problem in XP with copying BIAB, RealBand or PowerTracks files to another drive. You do not need to go through a second installation process. I have been using this method for security purposes for a number of years. I maintain two separate installations, one internal working system which is copied to on an external drive with Desk Icons to match.

I guess I am assuming he doesn't have the new drive yet, with everything on it (few do).
If you downloaded 2011, you can 'install' it to the old drive.
If you already have the new drive (with the everything pre-installed) you can 'copy' the files.

Look at the thread entitled "bbw.lst rebuild from scratch."
Several people found that you can't just "copy RealTracks" to another drive as the BBW.LST file is not updated with a simple re-build.

I'll be upgrading from 2010.5 UltraPlusPak on HD to 2011 using DVDs. Must I install BIAB and RB to the HD, or just copy?
