Loaded an audio file into RB. Every time I press space or click on play, it restarts playback from the beginning. There is a separate play from start command, but I want to start playback from within the song.
what am i missing?

Sounds like your ctrl key is stuck down ..
Actually check your settings in Options- Autorewind..
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Go to the MENU bar OPTIONS | AUTO REWIND and disable.

It was disabled. There was another glitch that I had too. At first, I could not scroll through the whole song, it was as if there were only 19 measures when there really are about 86.
Another problem that I was having was trying to move the song position either by clicking in a measure or with the slider. It would only let me move to about 1/3 through the song.
After saving and reopening, and installing RB update #2, the song position is moving OK. However, if I click on a measure later in the song, playback appears to work by I hear nothing. I only hear the audio if I start from the beginning or near it.
It seems more like a bug then settings being wrong. I could start over but don't want to lose my manual chord entries. Is there some sort of song "reset" as far as length that might fix this?
Oh, this song started by loading audio into ACW, then "paste into RB".
Finally, I have found a cool signature with sufficiently dry humor.

The 'L' at the top of the tracks window locks in the from/thru range. Maybe that was activated.
Other than having some kind of looping or other issue, if you just want the chords, I would try a copy and paste in a new chord sheet.

Got it working, using Percy's suggestion of copying chord and part markers over to a new song. Then I just re imported the audio file. Had to manually jot down the tempo which ACW figured out and enter it, and did it over making sure "Stretch" wasn't checked.
It was in time, but not lining up. Every DAW works differently, and pgmusic has features buried all over the place. It took a while to figure out how to slide the audio. Just go to edit audio window, select all, and Ctrl Left and drag. You've got beats above you so you can visually line it up, but it doesn't show a ghost image.
So I don't know what happened on the original ACW run, but ACW seems much more stable than when it first came out. Same for Realband.
Finally, I have found a cool signature with sufficiently dry humor.
