Hi
I don't understand that upgrade option, for $99, from 2010.5.
It says it includes RT sets 102-121.
OK, one already has 1-101.
But haven't all the RTs changed this year, to fit elastique, etc.?
So even if one already has 1-101, doesn't one need to get them again, with the new program?

maiki,
I used the $99 download option to upgrade my 2010.5 BIAB/RB
If you have version 2010.5, you can download the $99 upgrade and install it. For this upgrade to work, you ABSOLUTELY MUST have version 2010.5. It will not work if you try to install the download over version 2010. The download is about 5 - 6 GB as I recall. Once that's installed, your existing programs become the 2011 version of BIAB/RB with all the new bells an whistles. You'll have ALL the Realtracks, then.
After installing 2011, your older Realtrack folders #1 - 101 will contain files that are no longer needed because of the new stretching routine. These old files are called +/- files and BIAB gives you the ability to delete them and reclaim about 70 GB of hard drive space.
Regards, Noel

Hi maiki,
Yes it can be confusing. If you have 2010 ultra pak then you will have realtracks up to #82. Realtracks 82-101 I believe were offered in the summer pak, and now realtracks are offered from 101-121.
As you are no doubt aware by now, for a lot of people who are price conscious its only really worthwhile to upgrade once a year around xmas time, as for the summer pak you are effectively paying at least $59 just for the sake of having a few mths extra with the added realtracks (which will be offered at Christmas anyways)
Just to add the offer on this years ultra pak will definitely end soon, and my experience with PG when contacted is that they are not flexible as regards price.
I downloaded the ultra pak this year 2010 ultra pak upgrade to 2011 ultra pak upgrade a download of just over 23gb which went fine but had to request the links from PG. I also received the hard drive, but as I now have 2 of PG's drives I don't need any more.
Going on the size of the summer pak to 2011 upgrade any future yearly upgrade should be under 15GB download I believe because of the smaller size of the realtracks.
Hope you are able to decide what you want Maiki but as stated by Noel on another of your threads the current deals will end soon.

Agree, it is very confusing.
I have suggested to PGMusic on previous occasions that they should better organize and explain the upgrade paths and costs. And to make the upgrades more financially equitable.
Just buy the 2011 UltraPak hard drive. All the R/Ts (AFAIK) are there.

No, this was explained to you in another thread, here: http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/showflat.p...true#Post301349
Maiki, with all your recent posts of questions and suggestions about the upgrade, I've lost track of where you are. Wouldn't it just be easier to call PG Music Sales, ask them your questions, and place an order?

I guess what I do not understand about it is--if the RTs were all completely changed in format as of version 2011, wouldn't the person buying that $99 option still have to download all the RTS again, not just the ones that he or she did not already have? Or did the engine changes, etc., already happen with 2010.5? Quote:

No, the engine change did not occur in 2010.5.
No, you do not have to download the older RealTracks again.
Nothing said by Noel implied either of those two things.

Hi maiki,
You really need to contact PG Music.
** The new stretching routine is brand new to version 2011.
** When version 2010.5 came out, it introduced a whole heap more Realtracks that 2010 did not have.
** The $99 upgrade from 2010.5 to 2011 requires that you have the new 2010.5 Realtracks present on your system.
** Since 2010 does not have these Realtracks that 2010.5 has, the $99 upgrade will not work if you try to install it over 2010.
** You do not need to get all new Realtracks. They are exactly the same as they have always been. It's just that 2011 uses Realtracks in a superior manner than previous versions of BIAB.
The bottom line is that the few dollars you are concerned about don't really amount to too much when you compare it to the US$140 you save by buying while the product is on special. You are STILL coming out WAY IN FRONT.
Good luck, Noel
