Using 2011...on some songs I change each volume and 'save with patches..." with Save All checked.....
but the instrument volumes revert to 90... seems like I recall a post about this, but I cannot find it...
Is there a checkbox somewhere that does this? Happens only on a few styles ZZBOSSA.STY is one....

That particular style has the volumes fixed (I don't know why). To change it, select the Misc settings in the StyleMaker for that style. There is a checkbox for Allow Volume Changes with Style. If you uncheck it, you can set your own vols.

Thank you both! That's something that's been puzzling for ages. I never thought to check for that in a factory style.

Hey Rachel, thanks. I forgot about that too.
Is there a way, do you know, to "uncheck" universally for ALL styles?

Not that I've found yet (at the style level). However, If you select "Opt, Preferences" and then click on the "MIDI Options" button, there is a setting called "Style Volume Changes. If you uncheck this, then BIAB will ignore the style volume setting. However, this is on a machine by machine basis. So if you share your file with someone else and want the same behavior, they will need to uncheck this box too.
It would be nice to be able to have BIAB go through all the styles in your style list and make the change (at the style level) for you. Maybe something for the wishlist.

That is a permanent, self perpetuating situation, too.
Even if you find and "correct" all your factory styles that have this fixed-volume setting (it may be intentional), they will be replaced with the same old thing by the next update.
PG styles are over-written routinely, in order to provide new versions and replace lost or corrupted styles. So you have to re-name any factory styles you edit. Otherwise, your changes will be lost at next update.
