Hi
what do you think has happerned to my jazz tunes since i updated all my tunes are playing a octave higher then they are written how could this happern would it be a virus as i can`t finf out why i have tried a factory reset without any anwser to this strange thing it happerns mainly in the melody track,any thoughts on how this could have happerned

look at options preferences channels look in the second column there may be a +1 under melody this can make the instrument play an octave higher the odd thing is that reset to factory settings should have fixed this maybe there is something else going on don't know

If you are using RealTracks, an octave up can be caused by corrupt WMA files.

A global transpose of 12 would not affect RealTracks, would it? Just MIDI melody or soloist.
And a corrupt WMA file makes sense for one RealTrack sounding wrong, but could it affect all his songs?

I had a simnilar issues awhile back but just on a couple of arrangements. What I did was simply unfreeze all tracks, hit play to regenerate them again then freeze them once more and all was OK. I hope it will be as simple for you.

thanks for the replys when i checked the arrange page in pref the pitch adjust box had 12 in the box as i had not been near the arrange page makes me wonder how they change,i started the computer up yesterday and it was playing funny so nothing had been touched anyway i feel quite embarassed when so many little things keep going wrong my brother says i flash around with the curser to much and do not know what im doing,maybe,im lucky most of you put up with a numpty like me so thanks for your help

Isn't that out of Jungle Book?
As to your flying around the screen at hyperspeed for some reason almost everyone I know does that. I learned not to do that years ago when an IT guy told me computers are dumb machines, they will do exactly what you tell them to do You happen to scoot around the screen and twitch the wrong way and bam, you just activated something and spend the next several hours trying to figure out why this blankety blank computer is a POS. Nothing wrong with the PC or the program, it did exactly what you told it to do. The problem of course is modern programs are so complex, are capable of doing so many things in so many different ways it's very hard to keep track of it all.
Even if you get a virus and are forced to reformat and reinstall everything, the computer only did what you told it to do. You clicked on something that installed the virus. The box is dumb, it didn't do it on it's own.
You must slow down, take your time and understand exactly what you're doing or you're just compounding your frustration. A few minutes of slowing down saves you hours of hair pulling later.
