Sometimes a “very simple love song” can be the best love song and this one was the best of the best.
I loved it.
I believe that every happily married man can relate to this song. I know I could.
PS – This should get radio air time IMHO.

Hi Powderman, Thanks so much! I am glad you like the song and harmonies. As to how I produced them, on this song they are very simple. Just one track on all three parts. I did all the vocals. One of the things I generally do with background vocals (and this is not a set in stone law) is to differentiate between the lead/melody and background vocals. For example, if I have a lot of effects on the lead vocals, I will have little to no effects on the background vocals. If I have very few effects on the lead vocals, I will have more on the background vocals. Then I "space" all the background vocals around the "room" (panning). Ultimately, it is up to your ears to determine what is going to sound good. Personally, I try to underplay the use of effects such as reverb and delay. I think reverb is very easy to over-use, and it usually only makes the recordings sound more amateur. Of course if the song calls for effects, then I use them. Anyway, that's in a nutshell how I do my vocals. Sorry for rambling so much! I am sure that I overestimated your interest in the subject.  Hope you have a blessed day! Steve

Hi MarioD! Thanks again for your generous comments! I agree that sometimes simple is best. I have been happily married for 35 years this year, and I wrote this song truly out of my heart of appreciation for someone who would put up with me for so long. Thanks again! Steve
