Hello to All:

After much searching and brain damage (and self discovery) I wanted to share a possible fix for someone like me who may be having a similar issue.

The "problem" was real tracks (drums for a demo in this case) was not in sync with the midi events for the other instruments...visuals (time curser and bar highlights) were off too.

Audio was lagging behind about 1/2 beat.

My particular set up (preferred) is my external synth (Yamaha Motif XS), AISO driver and Yamaha USB drivers.

I use the junky sound card that came with the PC (Dell Inspiron running Vista)...but it has served me well.

I digress.

If one were to search the forums you'll find about 60 related threads...I was digging for gold...but no specific answers...just clues...as there are various people with various machines and issues of all sorts...but a great resource for sure...I did learn a great deal nonetheless.

Ok, short and sweet: I discovered that my ASIO setting for "AISO Always On" checkbox was NOT checked. I repeat: It was NOT checked.

I checked it and sadly, I cannot recover the hours lost in madness in search of this epiphany.

Hopefully, I'll save someone the trouble.

Reason I originally tweaked this setting (un-checked it) was because in the BIAB environment, I discovered that in order to "audition" Real Drums (using the Media Player) this was the only way possible as AISO greedily holds tight and explicit control of audio if it is in use by a program (one at a time I'm afraid).

So, along this line, you'll find that after auditioning a wave file or something, you'll have to close media player
in order to get back to normal play in BIAB.

I hope this helps someone!

Regards,
Eric
