So a follow up on my previous of yesterday where I was trying to setup a DS al Coda. This morning I decided to first lay it all out linearly. So created a new file and setup the tune to initially have 75 measures. I encountered a weird display issue. See here:

http://screencast.com/t/znY1e6PP

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64
6 gbs ram
Intel i7 Core processor

Display resolution: 1680 x 1050

I have a dedicated Win7 certified dual head video card with plenty of ram and have not encountered other display issues at all.

Pref/Display provides a setting for the number of rows displayed in the Chord Sheet window. Easy to have some 75 measures displayed.

k, thanks, I'll check it out. But even if I stipulated that x number of bars are to be displayed why can't I scroll past what is displayed i.e. when I have more ? If I'm meant to only work with what is displayed why have a scroll bar?

The expected is that I should be able to scroll up and down whatever number of bars I have in my tune regardless if they all fit in the specific view port.

I have a similar system and had some problems with getting past a certain number of bars. I think it got resolved with 2010.5 or 2011, as I had very few songs with this limitation, I ended up editing in piano roll not on the chord sheet which for some reason when I got past the first screen of bars when playing the song it kind of messed up and made no sense at all.

That's gone.

What version of Band in a Box are you using?

It seems to me it was a combination of video drivers and something in Band in a Box that didn't play well. My monitor is a fancy one that rotates, is big, and connects via hdmi cable.

If only computers were simple and fool proof.

The only computer I have that never gives me any problems and works 100 percent is my Linux one I'm on now. The worst computers were the first version of windows and Vista which is short form for Stupid Operating System. Win 7 is certainly better than Vista.

John:

yes, I'm on 22 in HDMI monitors on a dual head card. However, non of my other software i.e. Cubase, Sibelius , a number of plugins exhibits any display issues of this type. I am on BIAB 2010.5

Windows 7 64 is actually quite a decent music OS, its faster than XP pound per pound not too mention leaner.

Charles, the issue displayed in your video is known. It happens to me with build 313 (BB2011) Win7x64, and I think others have reported it as well. PG Support tells me they're looking at it.

Do you know if that is related to screen resolution or Win7 64 bit? What resolution do you normally run that displays the problem? I'll see if does it on my system but haven't seen it at 1280 X 800.

I'm running at 1920x1080 (the "native" resolution of the monitor). Just tried 1280x800 and found the issue there too. It took several resizings of the window before it showed up. It's more likely to appear quickly when I use a file with a bar count that exceeds the screen real estate. But even with a shorter song, moving the bar cursor below the bottom of the screen and back with the arrow keys reveals the problem (long as I've resized the window at least once).

There's a thread around here somewhere where one of PGs own staff reports the problem.
