We will need to know your entire set-up... P.C. brand..processor speed...ram...graphics card.... etc But for starters while this problem is taking place hit Alt>Ctrl>Delete, choose Task Manager and see what programs are running in the background

In BIAB, did you try Opt, Return to Factory Settings?

I didnt do restore (duh) i'll try that first
computer is a lenovo thinkpad wind7 icore 3 3gig ram not sure about the video card its a intel but not sure what

ok i didnt change anything and have just played through 5 songs and the problem isnt happening now
