Just trying out the new BIAB 2011 I purchased and I am having heaps of problems with the screen not refreshing in the section that displays the chords.
If I pop up a window, like movable notation, or big lyrics window, over the top, then close it, the part that was over the chords section remains, obscuring the chords. Also, if I scroll the chords section down the image of the chord sheet doesn't move, but the program thinks it has because if you click on it, it highlights a chord, but it's out of alignment with the image that is left behind. Also if a song is playing when you scroll, the highlight keeps tracking along, again out of sync because the image hasn't moved.
Hard to explain, but it's all because it isn't repainting the screen in the chords section.
I am wondering if it isn't related to the fact I am running BIAB in a VMWare virtual machine - however, I never had the problem with BIAB 2008.5 (my previous version)

From reading posts over the years, I've noticed that sometimes problems like this are rectified when a computer's video driver is updated. It might be worth checking to see if there is a more recent version of driver for your card.
Also, what are you computer specifications?
In ver 2008.5, Realtrack generation was fully completed before song play started. In ver 2011, the song starts shortly after RT generation begins and RT generation is carried out in the background while the song plays. This is a processor-hungry process. To see if this is the culprit, you could try disabling the "Speed up generation of Realtracks" option found under Opt | Preferences | Realtracks.

Many thanks for the ideas. The machine gives a rating of about 2300 on geekbench. I disabled the RT speedup, and it seemed to fix the problem. Except that when I re-enabled the speedup, it still worked properly, so I need to discover just what it is that triggers the problem exactly. As it's a virtual machine, the driver for the 'virtual card' is supplied by VMWare. That may get updated from time to time. However, I did try changing it's mode to 16 bit rather than high colour. This would lighten the load on the driver somewhat. I also found a setting in BIAB's 'display' settings to 'auto-adjust # of rows' which was unchecked. Enabling it seems to help it make more sensible font size choices, and to fit the chords and rows better, especially when resizing. So, things are much better, for now, touch wood  .

What is your virtual machine running under? Linux?
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Slate VSX, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Yes, it's Ubuntu, and I THINK I've have just nailed the problem. The idea that it might be a video driver problem led me to it. Briefly, Ubuntu desktop has a bunch of fancy special effects, and this is accomplished by a 'compositing layer', a program called compiz, and all video output works through it - including the virtual video of the guest vmware machines. Sure enough, turning off special effects in linux (which turns off the compositing layer) seems to have cured the problem. I am very hopeful the problem is now gone
