Hallo ans Forum,
PGMusic hat gerade die Verson 2008.5 sowie neue RealTracks rausgebracht.
Wichtigste neue Features scheinen mir v.a. die verbesserte Geschwindigkeit beim Rendern der Reatltracks (angeblich nur noch 1/3 der Zeit) und der Verzicht auf die wave-Dateien zu sein, was erheblich Festplattenplatz spart.
Hat schon jemand das Update installiert und kann von Erfahrungen berichten?

Hier die Liste der neuen Funktionen von Band-in-a-Box 2008.5:
(an der deutschen Übersetzung wird gearbeitet...)
• Schnellere Erzeugung der RealTracks.
Die Zeitdauer zum Generieren der RealTracks wurde nun auf ein Drittel gekürzt.
• “Waveless” und wesentlich kleinere Dateigrößen, nur mehr 1/8 des Festplattenspeichers im Vergleich zu den Vorversionen! RealTracks und RealDrums benötigen keine WAV-Dateien mehr – es können ursprüngliche WMA-Dateien verwendet werden.
Dies macht große Bereiche der Festplatte frei, RealDrums und RealTracks benötigen nur mehr 1/8 des Speicherplatzes der bisher verwendet wurde!
Die bequeme “Archiv” Funktion entfernt nicht mehr benötigte WAV-Dateien mit einem einfachen Klick. Dies bedeutet, dass die neue Version wesentlich weniger Festplattenspeicherplatz als die vorherigen Versionen benötigt.
• Qualitäts-Verbesserungen bei Geschwindkeitsänderungen.
Die RealTracks klingen nun wesentliche besser über einen weiten Geschwindigkeitsbereich (typischerweise -15 und +40 Schläge pro Minute).
• Stereo Panning ist nun für die RealTracks verfügbar.
• Automatisches Vermeiden von Audio-Übersteuerung.
(Neues “Float Mixing” und Peak Limiter wurden hinzugefügt.)
• RealStyles™ Verfügbar – Das sind Styles, die alle “Real Instrumente,” ohne MIDI beinhalten. Bis zu 7 reale Instrumente, alle in einem einzigem Style!
• Verbesserte Übergänge für RealTracks Pops/Klicks werden entfernt.
• Rechts-Klick Menü für jede Band-in-a-Box Spur ist nun verfügbar
(Bass, Drums, Piano, Gitarre, Strings), ermöglicht schnelles Zuordnen von RealTracks, (oder RealDrums) zu einer Spur.
Weitere Funktionen wie Stummschalten, Solo-Spur, usw. wurden ebenfalls realisiert.
• RealTracks Browser Dialog zeigt umfangreiche Informationen über die RealTracks, inklusive Name, Genre, Feel, Tempo, Typ, Demos und Vorschau.
Listen können über jede Spalte sortiert oder gefiltert werden.
• Einfaches Speichern eines Styles (.STY) mit RealTracks, direkt vom Hauptbildschirm (“Speichere, was du hörst” als einen Style).
• RealTracks arbeiten mit Pausen und Shots.
• Endungen sind nun in RealTracks verfügbar.
• Der Name der RealTracks oder RealDrums werden nun am oberen Bildschirmrand für jede Spur angezeigt.
• Rechtsklick auf eine Spur ermöglicht diese einzelne Spur als Wave-Datei auf die Festplatte zu speichern.
• RealTracks Demos sind nun im RealTracks – Demo-Ordner verfügbar und können über den StylePicker geöffnet werden.
• RealTracks Vorschau Funktion um RealTracks “vorzuhören”, ohne den bestehenden Song zu verlieren.
• Möglichkeit um RealTracks zeitlich um einen bestimmten Wert zu versetzen, um zum Beispiel to mehr „Laid-Back“ Feeling zu erreichen.
• RealTracks Variationen können erzeugt werden, um zum Beispiel bei bestimmten Variationen einfachere Soli zu ermöglichen.
• RealTracks können mehrfache Substyles haben. Der Jazz Acoustic Bass spielt zum Beispiel “2er”’ Feel in Substyle “a” und “4” in der “b” Sektion.
• Solisten können über andere Akkorde als im Song vorkommen, solieren. Der Metal Guitar Solist kann zum Beispiel ein tonales Zentrum durch den Benutzer zugewiesen bekommen, das abweichend zu den Akkorden aus dem Song ist. Die Metal Guitar könnte zum Beispiel ein Solo über den G Akkord spielen, während die Akkorde des Songs G F G Bb sind.
• “Crescendo” Soli können für einige RealTracks erzeugt werden.
• Musikalität der Solo-Phrasen wurde verbessert, die Phrasen klingen wesentlich ähnlicher der menschlichen Spielweise.
• RealTracks Button wurde dem Solist Dialog hinzugefügt, Farbmarkierung ermöglicht schnellen Zugriff auf die RealTracks.
• RealTracks Verzeichnisse haben nun beschreibende Namen. Anstatt kryptische Namen wie RacG001, werden nun Namen wie “Guitar, Electric, Soloist Cowboy Ev 165”, verwendet.
• Bass Spuren können nun RealTracks spielen.
• StyleMaker listet RealTracks Namen im Hauptbildschirm.
• Nicht Englisch-Versionen arbeiten nun mit den neuesten RealTracks ohne einer neuen Übersetzung der Solisten-Liste(Default.SOL Datei).
• Archiv und Install WAV Buttons um die Verwendung der WAV-Dateien für RealDrums und RealTracks zu kontrollieren.
WAV-Dateien werden nicht mehr benötigt, da das Programm nun die viel kleineren WMA-Dateien verwenden kann.
Wenn Sie allerdings dennoch WAV-Dateien benützen möchten (geringfügig bessere Klangtreue und etwas schnellere Bearbeitung), können Sie mit diesen Befehlen auf Basis von globalen Verzeichnissen auch mit Wave-Dateien arbeiten.

Ich würde mir gerne BiaB Pro zulegen, aber wenn ich jetzt eine Version 2008 im Fachhandel kaufe, ist das dann die 2008.5? Oder können alle neuen Käufer upgraden?
Desweiteren würde ich gerne den BONUS 12-PAK erhalten, mein Händler sagte mir aber, BiaB Pro würde nur die Triple Bonus C mit folgendem Inhalt: PowerTracks Pro, SlowBlast!, VSC-3 Softwaresynthesizer enthalten und nicht den BONUS 12-PAK. Was stimmt denn nun? Der 12-PAK wäre mir schon wichtig.

Kann man die Version 2008.5 als Upgrade für die deutsche Version 2008 installieren oder sollte man auf das Sprachpaket warten? - Danke für die Antworten.
Ich lese seit einiger Zeit im Forum mit und habe mich nun registriert; ich bin Gitarrist und arbeite mit BiB 2008 und Powertracks in der Letztversion.

Hallo MAK,
habe die Version 2008.5 inzwischen installiert. Man kann es problemlos als (kostenloses) Update über die dt. 2008 Version installieren.
Das Pluspak mit den 44 neuen Realtracks zum Sommerspecialpreis habe ich auch im PG Online-Shop als Download gekauft. Die 59$ sind beim derzeitigen Dollarkurs ein Schnäppchen.
Allerdings ist der Download mit mehreren Gigabyte eine Tortur, trotz DSL. Man erreicht nur morgens eine brauchbare Downloadgeschwindigkeit, offenbar ist der kanadische Server zu anderen Zeiten etwas überlastet.
Kann daher noch nicht zu den Neuerungen sagen, es fehlen mir noch zwei, drei Downloads.

danke für die Informationen; nur noch eine Frage: Ist die Menüsprache nach dem Update auf 2008.5 dann englisch?
Werde mir auch das Pluspak in den Morgenstunden runterladen.

es sind nur die in 2008.5. neu hinzugekommenen Menüpunkte auf englisch. Alles andere bleibt in deutsch.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
