Hello Folks,
Had been using N-Track Studio as my multitrack recorder until I purchased BIAB. However, My understanding is that BIAB contains a multitrack. Wondering what the the best way to get that working is? Also need to be sure that it's using my soundcard's 24 bit capabilities.
Thanks in Advance,
Jon

Simply put - BIAB is not designed to record multiple tracks. You can record a single track, then you can move it and record a second track - but that is about it. You need to use the sister product - Real Band which comes free with BIAB.

HI Jonn - BIAB is mixerless so unless you are happy to work without mixing... not a good idea, shame really.

Thanks!
I'll try RealBand. It doesn't sound like much of a problem as long as it will import everything I've done in BIAB and I can still get everything back into BIAB. Is that what RealBand does?
Warm Regards,
Dave

Usually, one would go from BIAB into RealBand and stay there.
Note that BIAB has the ability to adjust the volume of each track, although it does not look or function like what some people would consider a mixer.
Also note that BIAB is based on 16 bit recording and files.

Real Band does much more than that John. First it will open Biab songs directly so no need to import anything but Biab is much faster at generating the RT's than RB is so it may be faster to import them than letting RB generate them. You'll have to see what works best for you.
RB is a full blown 48 track audio/midi recorder and sequencer with full mixing capabilities. It can use multiple synths both hardware and software plus record live audio like instruments or vocals. It has 32 midi output ports while Biab only has one. It can use multiple VST/DXi effects plugins for recording and/or mastering. In addition to all that it can generate new Biab tracks on an individual track basis using different styles per track. This is without changing the tracks you already have and allows you to get very creative. This is a most important point, it means you can have your basic song created using one Biab style but you can then add a part like a rhythm guitar say using a different style using either midi or another RT. Start doing some of that with 48 tracks to play with and you soon find yourself trying all kinds of crazy combinations. You will also start creating multiple parts like 3 different drum tracks and layer or mix them in different parts of your song. It does so much you may ask why use Biab at all and the answer is Biab still does some things that RB won't so both programs are useful and work well together. RB is complex because it does so much, go over to the RB forum and start reading all about it and check out the tutorials too.

Jon,
Biab can separate wave files of Real Tracks to each individual track, or you can save a Biab mix as a stereo wave file. They are set in the .Wav button "options."
Most save their song as either .MGU or .SGU Biab format and have RealBand open fthem from their.
If you are asking if you can multi-track input wave recording: The answer is no, Biab has only a single wave file track in it for capturing an input device. You can multi-track a midi file using the .seq button in midi format. You can also save in format 1 or 0 in the .Mid button options.
