I am probably missing a sinmple solution... Is there a quick and easy solution to dump all real tracks (unfrozen) or by selection to quickly try out other RTs or midi possiblities? I rarely use a single style and want to find a faster way to audition the best combination of midi and real tracks.

As far as I know, you can't change all RTs at once w/o selecting a new style. However, just right click on Bass/Piano/etc (near the top) and select the new RT you want via "Add/Remove RealTrack".

RB excels at this.

If you base style does not use RT just select "clear all" in the Realtracks Picker dialog. Then you're back to all midi and you can start over.

Thanks - this is the best solution so far - I had forgotten about this.
Completely starting over loses the chord changes and song structure so that doesn't work with existing work. What I am looking for is a way to lock in certain frozen tracks (midi or RT) and keep looking for the best alternatives. It appears that frozen tracks are lost with the style changes? Another problem is that once you want to lock in a track a new style only puts parts in the normal used up locations? Being able to choose where the tracks load would help. Getting the right midi part is even more challenging.
Also the existing BiaB track names now seem obsolete when many styles for example use piano for guitar etc. Why not just have tracks 1,2 3 etc and let the user or BIAb fill in the blank? Possibly keep only drums and melody tracks because of their special features.
Love Biab and use it all the time. I know that I can do some of this with RB and or Sonar but prefer using BIAB as a music creation tool before going into a DAW. Still hoping for a really good midi/RT interface for picking styles and or instruments. With the size of the program growing this becomes more important with every upgrade.

You can generate just like you are describing in RB. I know BiaB is quick and easy, but so is RB once you get the hang of it.
Get the idea and chords down in BiaB, then use RB to experiment with styles and Realtracks etc.
You get 48 tracks to experiment with, and they are numbered like you desire.. it's a much easier program to do what you are describing. Delete the tracks you don't want and regenerate.
Or generate 6 guitar tracks using the same style (they'll all vary) and cut/paste what you want to one track.
You can even just highlite any region of a track (MIDI or Audio) and regenerate just that section if you want.
It really is the next logical step to BiaB and very powerful when the two are used together. Don't think of it as just 'moving to a DAW'. You can still generate realtracks at will. Try THAT with Sonar!

Thanks - I will try Real Band again. Part of it is already knowing Sonar and trying to minimize the number of programs I use. You are right Real Band is far better for BIAB production but I also found that other non BIAB audio features were more advanced in Sonar. I would like to see BIAB and Real Band eventually become one program or at least have seemless integration. I think BIAB has enough tracks to do most of the music production I want with a few more tweaks.
I get in a habit of doing things in a certain way and it is good to get feedback/ideas from other users - appreciate the input.
