Hey ya'll,

Here is our latest song called Drive. There is a video coming soon.

Bob and I hope you enjoy it. Comments welcome. Thank you for listening!

RTs used: 704 Flute, 1304 Guitar, Nash-even 8-5 drums. Recorded in RB mixed in Tracktion.

Drive ©2011 Josie Beck, Robert Dean

I wanna drive to a cabin in the woods
Drive to a cabin in the woods
On a clear blue lake where the fishin's good
Drive to a cabin in the woods

I wanna drive to a condo on the beach
Drive to a condo on the beach
Feel warm sand squishing my bare feet
Drive to a condo on the beach

Let's take our time on old 66 the scenic route
Get in the car and drive
Check out all the exits
Put it on the credit card

I wanna drive to a cabin in the woods
Drive to a cabin the woods
Prop my feet on the porch where the nappin's good
Drive to a cabin in the woods

I wanna drive to a condo on the beach
Drive to a condo on the beach
Let the ocean waves rock me to sleep
Drive to a condo on the beach

Blame gas so high we don't drive far these days
Get on our bikes and ride
Pedal on the concrete
Thinking where we should be now

I wanna drive to cabin in the woods
Drive to a cabin in the woods
I'd be on the road today If I could
Drive to a cabin in the woods

Drive Drive I wanna drive

Great job Josie and Bob! Really enjoy that tune.

I think that is 1304 Guitar (Celtic 16ths). Clever use of that RT!

Thank you Peter! Glad you enjoyed the tune.

I changed the typo - it is celtic guitar.

Hi Josie and Bob,

This is excellent!!!!! I wholeheartedly agree with Peter, you've used Realtracks very very creatively. The arrangement sounded like a live performance to me. I sat back, closed my eyes and I could see it all happening. The mixing of this song is incredibly good. Professional all the way. What appealed to me most was the way that you've managed to achieve such an authentic acoustic sound.

Ok... going back for my next listen now

It's a 10/10 from me!

Hi Josie & Bob,

What an unusual use of the Rt's but it just works.

Did you have an idea that it would work or was it an accident (don't take offense as it isn't meant to be offensive)

However you came by it I think it is great.

Kudos to you and Bob

Best regards
George

Hey Josie,
You all keep gettin' better and better. I dig the acoustic guitar. Your smooth voice against that rough guitar sounds great.
Doesn't sound like an RT. It's the first time I thought it was someone playing a guitar live.
Very hip sound. I dug it the most. Doesn't sound like anyone else. I really like this more rocky sound. Kind of like why I like Sheryl Crow.

My wife and I used to drive all the time. Just go exploring. We'd drive all night to find Diners. I can't count the times after my gigs my wife and I would be eating breakfast at 4am in an old Diner with a bunch of truckers. This song really made me think about some good old times. You picked a real catchy Song title and Lyrics. Well done!

I just love the harder sound.
Thank you so much for sharing once again.
You are on a roll. Keep that motor runnin'.

Michee,
No offense taken. RTs are wonderful for happy accidents and discoveries. I heard Steve use the celtic guitar on one of his songs and had it in mind so it was planned. It was editted and so was the flute. Bob nixed the trombone but he was right it didn't fit.

Wayne,
My fav driving memory is through the smoky mountains in a little MG with the top down. But I can't forget the family vacations to the beach in the Dodge station wagon with all us kids piled in the back. Bob and I like the edgy sound of the guitar too.

Noel,
Thank you! So glad we got the live vibe. I think mixing is the ultimate love hate relationship. (BTW,when we gonna hear another song from you....missing you here.)

This is great! Cool music and great lyrics, although I've come to expect great lyrics from ya'll! You never disappoint! I don't know what it is about the writing force of this duo- but you two are on a roll! Keep it up!

Hi, Josie.

The energy and enthusiasm of your voice really comes through. From the start, you sold me on the song. And as others have noted, the guitar sounds like it was tailor made for the song, not the other way around.

Thanks for posting it!

Hi Josie and Bob!

This one's a little different for you two! I like it. (But then, I always like your work!) You two do make a good team. Can't wait to hear the next one!

Hey you two

Must say I like this one. As Steve said, it's different from your other songs. For me, the song works as a whole : lyrics, voices, arrangement. And sometimes it's a fact that you don't need a complicated arrangement to make a song work, that makes you want to sing along with. Bravo to you two !

Best of all and hope your day is a nice one

I really liked Drive. It had a real live feel to it. Reminded me of when i used to gather the family up and head for the Ozark's. Very good song and preformance. Keep on keepin' on.
