Hi, As you can see I'm no longer a "BIAB Luddite"!  New prog arrived yesterday....marvellous! Installed on my E drive. All seems great, but I was working on a number.....J!N_ORL Vint J...... (Midi Bass & Piano....I generated Real Tracks for Guitar & Drums).......where I have 'shots' on the first 8 bars.......I only want the Bass to play. The first bar is...... Bb..b Bb. etc..... ALL instruments played the shots.I checked that the Real Tracks were properly enabled......then that the Chord Settings had the correct instructions.....rest all instruments except the Bass...from Bars 1_8....and that the Box was ticked for the other instruments NOT to play. Playback is First bar....shots on GUITAR!....then shots on All instruments!! What have I missed out? I've tried rebooting. Thanks for any help. Joe G.

Yes, this has been discussed. Possibly what you are hearing is the guitar player anticipating, which occurs in some styles. Try a different guitar RealTrack and see if this changes.

Do you have a place you can post the .MGU or .SGU file so we can see if you are writing the shots correctly?
If not, you could email it to me, and I'll try it to see what I get. If I'm stumped, I can post it on my website for others to review.

OK, I looked at your song. I did not see what you described, a shot for bass only; you have a shot for all instruments on beat one of those first eight bars.
As far as I know, you can't specify both a Shot and Mute (Rest) in chord settings for different instruments. So, what I would do is, in bar one, use F5 to Mute all instruments except the bass. Then, in bar nine, unmute them. The bass plays the shots, and nothing else sounds.
Just as a tip, you do not need to put the rested chords on beat three of each bar. The Shot "holds" until another chord that does sound is encountered.

Hi, Joe -
You have to think of the dots as "all instruments except". So when you type Bb..b, that means for all instruments to do a shot on the Bb chord except for the bass, which will just play regularly.
So, again, like Matt said, I would mute everything except the bass in bars 1 through 8, and then just set the chords for a shot Bb.. (no "b" after it). All instruments will then play a shot, except they're all muted but the bass, so you just end up with the bass doing the shot.
Then set the instruments to be unmuted at bar 9.
I hope that made sense.

I should have mentioned that he has a simple shot already, not the "rest except bass".
All he needs to do now is to mute the other instruments.
