Hi,friends
Help me here, please.
I would like to get 2 mini midi controllers to use with my notebook anywhere;

I have some pro and semipro controllers over here, but they are not very usefull for the “everywhere” use. The purpose is to input midi sequences (for the drums and for the keys/synth sounds). As I said before, I have many controllers, but they are not portable as I wish. I need/want something better than the notebook keybord, and velocity-sensitive, but very portable. Not for the studio or stage use, only for the use with my notebook, for registering ideas, and so on.

I've found some choices:

For the KEYS:
Akai LPK25
Korg nanoKEY

For the PADS/DRUMS:
AKAI LPD8
Korg nanoPAD

For the KEYS and PADS
AKAI MPKmini

They are not expensive, but not FREE.

Problem is there is NO supplier for these equipments in my area.
So I am not able to test the use before buying (!@#&).
That is, I need to choose and buy, then I receive the equipment and check if it is reliable for my purposes.

Is there anybody that uses any of these mini controllers and can suggest me one of them (or other, maybe)?

As I said before, equipment is not my problem for sequencing, problem is portability…

For the drums I have:
Roland PDX-8 (10-inch V-Pad™ featuring separate head and rim triggering)
Roland KD-8 (Kick Trigger Pad)
Roland FD-8 (Hi-Hat Controller)
Roland RT-10S (Snare Trigger)
Roland TD-3 (percussion/drum module)
Roland HPD10 (hand percussion controller - HandSonic 10)
Roland SPD-S (“Sampling Pad”, 6 pads and 3 edge triggers)
Roland TMC-6 (Trigger to MIDI Converter)
Some other single or dual triggering pads, mesh or rubber

For the keys I have:
Roland Alpha-Juno2 (a vintage midi synth piece that has a good keyboard)
Behringer U-CONTROL UMX61 (61-Key USB/MIDI Controller Keyboard)
Yamaha PSR-E323 (61-key touch response keyboard, not pro but useful)
M-Audio ProKeys 88sx (88-note digital piano with MIDI controller features)

Luiz...

You are a truly multi-faceted guy that keeps very busy, I'm sure.
Are you the same fellow that asked me about my GR-303 Midi Guitar controller??
Well, I've still got it but still resist selling it off.
We DO collect (buy) so many things over time that lots of it ends up "in the closet".
I must have three or four Boss Drum Machines/ and other small transportable kinds of controller hardware.

The hardware you do have IS pretty transportable unless like some of us, we're already "blowing smoke" up into the clouds and also Minimimizing to the Max, as we can...
I must have over twenty five apps from the Apple Store...of course I Do have some Apple gadgets to go along with my PC's. Really amazing, the software synths and programs you can "pump" out of these small pods, pads, phones and specialized mini-hardware that helps connect the new small-approach stuff into various kinds of soudboards/PA systems that make them sound downright "bestial" in sound range and scope.

You must have some giant music stores in Rio that offer test trials and/or returns!?

I have this one:

http://keyboards-midi.musiciansfriend.co...NG&ZYXSEM=0

It is the most inexpensive and I know the company is not known for high quality equipment but the thing simply works. I plugged it in and was playing my soft synths right away. No driver problems are anything. It does not have some of the fancy buttons the others may have but for basic functionality it works great. Keys are small but not bad. Action seems pretty good on them to someone who does not play. Octave buttons are simple and work without much if any delay. It can do a couple of other things as well which I can't remember at the moment.

For the price at Musicians Friend it is going to be hard to beat. I carry mine in my backpack when I am out travelling for business.

Good Luck

Terry
