There's a free update for the BB Remote for iPhone app You can get the update from your iPhone device, by visting the appstore, and typing BB Remote. There are significant improvements, primarily in the connection, which is now automatic and in the background, rather than a manual process. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bb-remote/id447841206?mt=8What's New in Version 1.1.0 - Faster program operations - Improved connection to the Band-in-a-Box desktop program. Got it. The automated connections are a great improvement.

The Australian app store currently has version 1.0.3 (as at today's date, August 21, 2011). Very frustrating as I can't use the app due to the "Quicktime bug". I've updated to 319 of BB but I assume I also need v1.1 of the iphone app.

Capn, keep in mind you must have version 2011.5 to run the new BIAB Remote app. Your build number indicates you have version 2011, and would have to upgrade.
So the Australian app store is different from 'ours' in the USA?

Yes, every country's iTunes app store is different, with different pricing and a slightly different selection of apps. Until recently the Australian apps were more expensive than the US store $1.19 vs $0.99, though Apple has thankfully revised this.
This is getting confusing though. I have updated BB 2011 to the 319 beta hoping that would fix the Quicktime 7.7 error, however I am still getting that error. If 2011.5 is needed for the new BB app, am I still entitled to use the old BB app wih 2011? The app store doesn't allow for different versions of apps simultaneously. PGMusic would need to have 2 completely separately available apps: the old version for 2011 and the new version for 2011.5. If I allowed my iphone to automatically update my BB app to 1.1 would that mean that I couldn't use it anymore because I don't have 2011.5? Seems unfair to me, especially as the original version of the app was always a bit touchy/problematical and we shouln't have to pay for bugfixes.
(Sorry for rambling, having trouble explaining myself!)

Why would there need to be different versions of the apps? Both apps in their current version on iTunes (at least in the USA) work with 2011.5.

If you're saying that you need 2011.5 for the 1.1 app, is there a version of the app that still works with 2011? My 1.0.3 version of the app connects to my BB 2011 but the Quicktime 7.7 bug stops me from actually playing any music with the app.

You shouldn't be getting that error with the 319 build of BB 2011.

I can create an mp4 audio file in BIAB on my pc without any problems. It's only when I try to generate the song on the iphone app that gives me the Quicktime 7.7 error. Not sure if that helps you find the problem.

Clarification: I am using the Biab for iphone app, not the newer BB Remote app. Sorry, I didn't realise that there were 2 different apps.

Yes, that makes sense now. The "Quicktime bug" would have no bearing on the BIAB Remote app, which this thread is about (at least it was when it started).
For anyone else confused by all this, the two apps have descriptions in the app store that say BIAB for iPhone requires BIAB 2011, whereas BIAB Remote requires the newer 2011.5. This info is also on this PG Music website.

Hi,
I have BIAB 2011.5 with the latest build #328, located on the separate hard drive. I purchased the BIAB App and when I try to play a song on my Iphone 4, I get a "generating file" bar and then a window pops up that says "Band-in-a-box Quicktime for windows not installed, or needs to be updated. You have version 7.7.0"
I updated to the latest Quicktime on my PC, which is version 7.7 (1680.34.
Any help would be appreciated.
