I went to a seminar at the local Musical Equiptment dealer wed. The speaker was well versed in recording on stage or in a studio. His presentation of mic's, the different types and usage was impressive. The intrerface that apealed to me was Personus AudioBox 22vsl. It comes with Studio One Artist software @ $199.00 us. Seems like a fair price. I downloaded the trial version and studied the manual. It works good using drag and drop from BIAB. I just walked in the door with Presonus box in hand.  Anyone having experence with this version, please add feed back. Good or bad E.L.C

I like Cool Edit Pro 2. I know, it is way out of date and no support on line. Since I bought a win.7 64 puter I can't get Cool Edit Pro 2 to work. There seems to be a driver problem that I havn't been able to fix. I have been using a trial version of Reaper. It is time to pay. I also want a small inter face for a midi keybosrd. The $160.00 difference in price makes since. I also have local support with Presonus at the dealer. I do pretty simple projects using BIAB and Real Band my bass playing and vocals. Also I do not have to carry a mixer to rrecord a steel or guitar track at a friends home. My portable rig cosists of a HP I-7 lap top, The Presonus Audio Box, 2 MD519 mics. a usb cord, 2 mic. cords, a FOSTEX PH-5 head phone amp., 2 FOSTEX T40 head phones. I can carry all of this in the trunk of my mmotor cycle. I like the near 0 latency feature with the interface. Thanks for asking. E.L.C.

Simple projects. Don't pay for another DAW program until you find that Real Band can't do what you need.A DAW program does not affect the sound at all except if they have proprietary plugs.

Thanks for the reply John. I respect your advice. I agree, Real Band is very good. I wanted a 2 input interface with all the features I need witthout carrying a small Allen&Heath mixer around. Then you have the problem of hearing the backing tracks and the tracks you are recording. This is a no brainer. No powered speakers ar amps and speakers to mess with. I bought it and it is a keeper.
