Hi folks,
I have just downloaded and want to set up sampletank free as a soft synth in band in a box software, I know how to select sampletank in band in a box software but not getting any sound except the realdrums. Basically I want sampletank to act as a general midi synth, i.e just play the general midi instruments that I am used to, just like the vsc/dxi.
I take it I will have to configure sampletank somehow to enable it to do this.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

It starts with having a GM soundset. Did you get that with your version of ST? If not, you have to set up a 16 channel preset with your most used instruments and make sure to match the channels with what Biab uses as it's default. For example go to Opt>Preferences>Channels and see in the left column Bass 2, Piano 3, etc. You have to pick a ST bass and put it on channel 2. The problem is some styles use an electric bass while some other styles use an acoustic. That means you need to either change that or create several different ST presets to go with different Biab styles.
It's tricky but it can be done.

ST has a sound set called Omnisynth, that is GM, but i always had a struggle with it due to it's high resource needs.
HP Win 11 12 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2025, Realband, Reaper 7, Harrison Mixbus 9 32c , Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app.
