Band in a box acquired in it's latest edition, a nifty integrated audio video solution.

Aimed at the home musician wanting to make a dvd, the software comes with a portable backdrop. This large sheet is identical to the one used to shoot the video.

Imagine this, you have worked on your rendition of Satin Doll for a month. You have Oliver and Neil and a couple of drummers on your tracks. When you pull up the sound from any one of them it overlays a video of that player in full HD video, to complement your soundtrack.

The end result is with the camera aimed at you the software shows Oliver Gannon running a jazz riff on his guitar, then your sax takes a bit of a lead, then the drums, and as each is shown the backgrounds meld and the audience, mesmerized by your instrument, the huge video screen behind you takes them on a musical journey, watching the hands of the masters.

Ahem.

In surround sound. 3d.

Turn your background sheet around you get leave the smokey jazz club and voila, a barn with bales of Hey! and wait for the fiddler.

Of course to do this you just talked to your new Band in a Box interface. "Satin Doll in C, Oliver, Neil and Terry on drums, 85 bpm! Intro...

Video is so 21st century. We should have full blown holography.

Satin Doll in C, Oliver, put the kit over here, Brent, set up your amp in the corner. Now I realize I suck but I'm taking front stage for this one. Intro... a 1 and a 2...

Where are they (videos) located at on the HD? I have the 2011 Ultra-Plus-Pak edition HD.

Thanks,

Trax

This is what John is promising for the next version (I think)
He's got it almost done! I was trying with Actionscript, but the Flash screen kept wanting to update.

Open salt, take with one grain.

/I think RB could handle a video window too, considering the processing available.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

It's pie in the sky. One of the cheapest video effects systems would be to run a combination of a projector as a second monitor and some sort of graphics program, however what I said would require the sophistication of using video cameras in the studio and doing a cut and fade application, as I said, perhaps based on volume or 'soloist' channel embedded code. Perhaps we are grown up enough to have a blank slot for any instrument we deem. I liked the suggestion of having drop down menus and being able to plop midi instruments from pg music's library, with an auto filter. That would be a huge step forward, using existing stuff.

Exciting times. Hold on to yer caubeen.

Oh, if you have a lot of photos, look up photochances.

There is a 'freeware' product there that runs a slide show (backing music if you want) and it fades, zooms, turns them into drawings, messes with colours.

I've had that software for years and use it for parties, like my upcoming christmas ones, the folks never tire of 10 year old photos of our band in it's hay day.

We all age.
