John, it's funny you should mention Troll. A troll is an old Norwegian word and used today not so much in mainland Scotland but certainly in Orkney & Shetland.
Trolls are described Fairy folk of Orkney and Shetland, who love music and dancing and can interfere in the affairs of men. The Shetland word for a troll is a trow.

But Furry that's just like me, in that in my kilt I admit to being a cross dresser. And provide provocative manure as a side line.

Neigh 'tis that I look at meself in the mirror and I see my chest in my drawers.

As to wee people they are everywhere, a few nips and they try to steal it. A few more and they do indeed sing and dance. Trolls it is then!

My family talked more of mermaids and faires of the Islands. I'd drink far more if I lived there. LOL

The other issue is the expense of the hard drive. Getting it back and it is now used, and been thru transit twice. All cost involved.

To label our new friend a troll is unfair, but i think Rharv was close to truth, in that i don't think you have given the program a fair shake. The RB program attached is worth the money. the combo is very powerful. There is nothing like this package out there.

John I worked In the Shetland islands as a 16 yr old greenhorn. It was there I got my love for the accordion. If I was single again ( sigh ) I'd move back in an instant

One question I wouldn't have minded before purchasing is, "Are you willing to pay $28 to ship the USB drive to Canada?" Because that is the only option you have for getting your money back.

If there were a demo this wouldn't be happening. I question the claim that a demo would be too big to download because I downloaded enough of the software that I purchased to determine that it's not worth $300 to me. I haven't even received the USB drive yet.

It's odd policy that they give you an option NOT to take the drive, but if you took that option you would get no discount to compensate for passing on the USB drive. I definitely would have taken a discounted price over the drive. I don't know why anybody wouldn't take the drive since they are being charged for it anyways.

I don't care for the software. It's not right for me. I know that there are great fans of this software here, and I respect them and their music.

I was lured by a generous money-back policy, opted to receive a drive because it made financial sense, and now I pay for my mistake.

you make a good point, and IMHO, you have been very gracious in your presentation. It probably wouldn't hurt to say "risk nothing but shipping costs" but to be fair, none of the money you risked went to PGMusic.

The law of the marketplace "let the buyer beware" has always placed the burden of making a good decision on the customer. If you are suggesting that PGMusic misled you, I'd have to disagree. Shipping costs have been around long enough for anyone to know that sending a product back is going to cost something.

Regarding the integrity if PGMusic... I have to agree with others who said that PGM stands alone in offering ANY money back for opened software. Yet they offer a refund of 100% of what they received. They have no control over Fed Ex , postal service or UPS policy. If there is a bad guy in this story, I don't see how it could be PGMusic. To my eyes, their money back guarantee policy is a good faith offering. They did exactly what they promised.

es175player,

I have been following this thread for awhile now and just relaized how much time I have wasted on a 28.00 point. Again all this ink for 28.00 and as Pat outlined the 28.00 is for a third party, not PGM.

I would love to know how many 28.00 bucks or much more I spent/lost in my lifetime because the product or service I purchased or contracted was not 100% what I wanted. I also know that deep down inside part of the blame has to be placed on me, i.e. for not doing a deep enough research of the product vs. the features I wanted, so I gambled and in some cases lost. My advice unsolicited as it may be is either fish or cut bait . . . either spend the 28.00 sending it back or pay for the product and take the time to explore it in depth as I am sure there will be many features you will learn to love. But in no way would I expect PGM or any other manafacture to send mne the 28.00.

PS: I love the ES175, I still may own one someday.

Best of Luck,

Sorry that your expectations were not met.

Man, I learned my lesson years ago! If I'm interested in a product (especially software) I do my research! Visit the forums, watch the videos, and if possible talk to other musician friends of mine who might have the product. Anything I can to get as crystal clear a picture of this product as possible!!

I'm curious though as to why you don't like the product. Did you watch the online videos beforehand? Was there something you saw or heard on the videos that you felt was misleading?

Actually the videos are what pushed me to purchase my 2011.5 UltraPlus Pak, and when I recieved it, it performed exactly as advertised!!

Now it's "another" weapon that I use in my studio with my main DAW Sonar 8.5 and X1 and a host of other sequencers, VST's and Live Instruments (as well as an incredible practice tool)!

I've found that these things are just tools, it's "me" that creates the "magic". It's my job to learn how to "use the tools" to their fullest (which I'm still doing with BIAB) and then incorporate it into my creative flow!

Good Luck!

es175player,
I must echo EVERYTHING that Harpo said. The latest BIAB & RealBand are wonderful tools for any musician who is prepared to experiment with them....and use them to suit.
I've just had a solo gig at a Jazz do.....the trumpeter was knocked at at the standard of my backings....Real Tracks. He was particularly knocked out by the Bass Player...swapping 4 bar solos with me!
(pretty basic editing....if I can do it....anyone can!)
I think the beauty of BIAB now, is the variety of ways in which it can be used.....by pros & hobbyists alike.
Have another think please? Joe G.

I also would like to know what you don't like about the program. I'm not even close to being a power user but I find Biab to be an incredible value.
