Hey All,
I want to have 8 bars of NO SOUND, except time being marked (closed Hi-Hat, finger-snapping etc) and then, return to the song. Anybody know how? Is their a drum file somewhere? I'm a little bit new at BB.

Do it with midi in either RB or PT. Just mouse in the notes in the piano roll.

Or setup a mike and snap your fingers to the tempo, and record it with a mike.

Try Chord Options?

Right click on the worksheet area. Select Chord Settings.

You can see a selection that is headed rests.

From the rest type select rest only
and select all intruments or all except and select the instruments
you require.

Any good?

You could also look at the options in Bar settings.
Again, right click on the worksheet and select Bar Settings.
There are options that maybe of help there?

Just a reminder that this thread should be in the regular BIAB forum instead of Tips & Tricks, which is for giving tips. It will also get far more attention in the correct forum.

Thanks guys - turning everything off but the drum track is a good idea... Now, I have to make a new percussive file - I'd like to record a hi-hat being played (closed). It's just to keep time and actually, the time slows a bit for this part. Can I make a .WAV file and import it? I can't seem to find a basice click track (much like the intro to all these song files. If anyone can comment it would be appreciated very much.
Thanks again.

For finger snapping and closed hi-hat, I would lay out the parts using the piano roll editor on the Soloist track. If the licks are the same, you can use copy/paste. You would need to find what those notes are for the sounds you want. Mute the unwanted parts.

I did this for Fever(Peggy Lee) where I have the entire bass line along with finger snapping on a Multichannel Soloist part.

And yes, this is a question for the BIAB forum.

Another dumb question. It has been a while but now I can't find how one changes the volume of any instrument during the song. Where is that edit?
