Hi folks,

I'm having a problem with realband. The cursor isn't showing up in track view or any view for that matter. If I click on the tracks it will show up where I click, but won't move when I hit play. I can set a marker or select a region, but the cursor doesn't move when I hit play. Every thing else works and playback sounds fine, just no transport cursor following the playback. I've reinstalled and tried various things like changing wdm and asio, changing dxi's, and different projects.

I'll give support an e-mail, but thought I'd check here first. Anyone ever heard of this or similar problem?

RealBand 2012 (2). XP pro, 3meg, 2.2 duo.

Thanks,
Jim

I'd be completely happy if I had just one more guitar.

Cursor issues are often one of below
System resources strained
video card issue (IRQ, drivers)
Can try using discrete thread, has worked for cursor issue before

Does the time display (lower left corner)go?

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

The time display doesn't run either. Thanks for mentioning that, I'll include that info when I talk to support. This problem came up when I installed 2012, but I took a quick look at my system anyway. Every thing seems to be working properly.

Thanks

Out of curiousity, can you post system specs?

Try using a discrete thread and see if anything changes.

It's in the Prefs-audio tab and defaults to Main Thread. Switch to discrete and see if it works, if not, switch it back.

22GB page file seems a little large .. "By default, XP creates a page file which is 1.5 times the amount of installed RAM" and this setting is recommended for audio recording systems; doubt that comes into play here, but I did notice
This can be controlled by user.

Update: I didn't have a chance to work on this much today but I have made some progress. I had tried reinstalling already but this time, after I removed biab and realband, instead of reinstalling, I tried running from the usb drive. It ran great!!! Only thing is tho, it crashes every time I close it lol. (I hit close, get error message 'realband has encounter a problem and needs to close') It's like the old problem from a couple of years ago. I just hit 'don't send' so it's minor but I'll report it when I get some time.

So it looks like it was a bad install but I'm thinking about actually deleting some files on the hard drive before reinstalling. Maybe the installer doesn't overwrite a file that's already there??? I'll work on this some more tomorrow.

Bob, thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into my page file tomorrow. I'm not sure why it's so large.
