I never could get the two to make the same thing happen to the same song as far as the final sound was concerned.
To me Band in a Box sounded 'round', 'full', 'smooth', in comparison. Those were my words. So eventually I just used Band in a Box.
I had quite a few things I tried in Powertracks, same thing.
So I came to the conclusion that there was a difference in post processing. Or final plug-ins?
Does this still happen?
If so can I get a final plugin combo that make the same tracks...sound the same?
Now those of you who are heterometrobothproducts types can probably tell me this off the top of your noggin.
If that same song, same tracks, sounds different, what would you do to them to make them sound the same?
Note that with the advent of the 'gizmo' in July where you can play with tone and volumes etc. I have found I like the bass down a bit, the drums a bit less etc. in band in a box, I didn't much fool with those before.

You might have an audio plug-in (PG Peak Limit) running in Biab ? You can check to see if something is loaded via pref/audio/realtime plugs.

PS - The music should sound the same with both programs, unless you have some plug-ins running in one and not the other. Same soundcard and drivers, right?

Back in the midi only days, BiaB had reverb, and effect setting that made it sound fuller than
RB, which required effect set up to bring that sound back. This was due to the fact it was designed more for mixing and such. With the RTs they have a touch of effect to start with.

I have to agree with Rob here. I prefer RB because you get what you put into it and it is FAR easier for mixing and recording. BIAB is more for modelling and playing with ideas.
