Using BIAB 2012, build 349. (just arrived yesterday)
As I have used BIAB since the DOS days, I still have many songs with short file names.
There is fortunately, a feature in BIAB to bulk rename all the short file names to long ones, based on the title of the song.
However, it doesn't work for me. I keep getting the error message:
"Unable to rename file---***(filename)
Perhaps this title is not unique."
I click OK, and then the error message pops up again, with a different song title. It keeps occurring one after the other, could go on for hours pressing OK, with nothing being renamed. I don't see a way to cancel out of it though. It looks like I will have to go to the Windows Task Manager, to forcibly end BIAB, in order to end this procedure.
Why is this happening?

Hello Maiki, I'm not sure, it is working in my testing, although it's possible that the feature needs revisiting with newer versions of Windows. Perhaps you could contact support@pgmusic.com and send us a sample folder which demonstrates this problem?

Hi Maiki, I just tried it on a test folder c:\bb\styles20, and it worked fine. (using Windows 7). Could you try it on a test folder like that too, to help diagnose the problem that you're having? (BTW, if you try it on styles20, back that folder up, because BB needs those short names to play MIDI demos from that folder) SO, assuming that your test folder works, then try it on a small folder of your songs. If you can find a small folder of your songs that DOESN'T work, please send that in a zip to support@pgmusic.comI suspect that there may be a file in your folder that has an illegal character in the title name or something (although we are already correcting for that).
