Normaly when I use BIAB I use my Microsoft GS midi driver for my soundput. Well, now they have Coyote Wt, but I don't know how to get it to work? I clicked on the "USE VST" box and that brought up the plugin box and it showed Coyote in it. I closed it out and play a song and I still had the same sound? So how do you enable the Coyote WT to be enabled for sound?

The CoyoteWT uses the same set of sounds as the Microsoft GS Wavetable, so it should sound the same.

Blake If thats true then the Coyote Forte is junk to.Because my MS GS wavetable is just terrible. The best sound sythn EVER made was Roland VSC or Roland VSC-DXI. Why can't PG music pay Roland to make a VSC midi sythn compatable with Windows 7 instead of all these real tracks? Go figure?

Roland dropped development. There is a claim midi is dead. And last I looked Roland was still a multi-national huge corporation.
PG music is Peter Gannon his brother and well, some guys and gals.
Now you mr rd151 are insulting and have great totally unpractical ideas.
If you would like to get continuing help from the folks here who are probably more polite than I by a country mile, then grow up. Otherwise I'm hitting the ignore button very soon.

Does your Roland make you happy ? Then PLEASE go play that for a while ? You've posted a half dozen posts today, and almost all of them are grouchy, and DEMAND an answer, or complaining in some way or other.. instead of politely asking for help. Your approach does not lend itself to anyone helping you solve real problems.

There is a difference between Coyote Forte and Coyote WT.
There are many fine software synths. You can pay any amount of money, and many sound superior to the Roland VSC.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I think my Roland Jv1010 beats the VSC, but probably the sounds are quite similar. I think the Ketron SD2 I have might beat them both easily in most categories. And my Roland W50 that I played for years worked well as a hardware synth. Now my Korg synth has some great sounds, but I use the synth to play along, and RealTracks and RealDrums, which make a great auto accompanyment solution. Midi playback is ok for a track or two in some cases, but to my now deaf ears, RealTracks provided by www.pgmusic.com exceed the ability of midi to make good, real backing tracks in most cases.

It is unforunate not everyone on this forum thinks as you do. PG Music might appoint you president. John, did ya ever think that not all of us can spend mucho dollars on costly sound equipment? Maybe you do, because you have easy money. Not me. Thats why I LOVED Roland software sythn like VSC and VSC-DXI,get it rich man? Of course I could be ignorant to the facts that maybe PGmusic sells its product line to PROFESSIONAAL musicans who can afford this stuff. I don't know? They sure have enough professionals recording their RealTracks don't they? Anyway, I'm just a senior who plays my homespun guitar and keyboard for home pleasure. If that botrhers you and the rest of your execs at PGMusic, what can I say? I like what works at a AFFORDABLE price. So chew on that awhile big shot

Good grief, who IS this guy? You have to be the biggest idiot to post here since Ivan. Quote:

Roland still makes a nice piece of software called the TTS-1. It's similar to the old VSC but sounds a bit better to most people but they don't sell it separately, it's included with various Cakewalk programs. PG sells Music Creator for 40 or 50 bucks and it includes the TTS-1. And, it works fine with Win 7. If $50 is too much for you then you've picked the wrong hobby. Get it dumb s***??
I can't believe I just tried to help you. It's Christmas, enjoy it while you can.

I have a Roland hardware thing. JV1010. You can buy them for about $20.00 now. And see other hardware modules like this. Most members here would do well to own one, zero latency, chain the midi.
The nice thing about the JV1010 and others over the Ketron is there is a knob in front and you can turn and push it to audition the patches. Works great.
And to one up the thing if you have a wind controller this is the gizmo for you. Just playing with the knobs and blowing is a full day's work!
In that I'm rich, (yes I have lots of family and friends thanks), I don't need stuff to have fun, but it passes the time.
The one thing you don't need to pass your time is a whiner, complainer, and moaner. (Hm, the ex wife and her lawyer come to mind, and that was 30 years ago.)
Maybe someone with the TTS-1 which I never did order, and the Roland JV1010 can jump up and provide this rich kid with a report. I'll send you what I can, but remember, I measure riches in other things than money so you might get my pet rock from the ages past.
As a Canadian senior I'm just glad to know that I'm secure in my riches, and geez the Beebs lives just up the hill in Stratford and I'm sure in a pinch he'd give old John a buck or tow.
Stratford, such a small joint but you've got the Festival, the BAND, and THE Beebs. Quite the lineup.

First did you ever actually confirm or get CoyoteWT working (your sure that is what you are hearing)? In any case, some info that might be of use (or maybe not): As Matt alluded to above Coyote WT and Coyote Forte are NOT the same thing. Coyote WT is a very poor cousin to Forte. Forte cost's ~$40 http://www.coyotes.bc.ca/ForteDXi.htmland WT is offered for FREE by PG. (This again shows you get what you pay for). As someone else mentioned there is also TTS-1 by Roland (offered by/through Cakewalk) - see this article about TTS-1 which is Roland's VSC replacement http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun05/articles/sonartech.htmTTS-1 comes as part of Cakewalk Music Creator 6 offered by PG for $39 so you not only get TTS-1 you get additional tools that MIGHT come in handy (maybe not I have Sonar X1 plus other DAW's so I've never checked into it). Besides other softsynths I have both Roland's TTS-1 and Coyote Forte and can confirm that either is much much, better than Coyote WT but neither Forte or TTS-1 are free - it's going to be $40 one way or the other. However, another FREE option you might seriously want to consider, but it is completely dependent on your PC and its sound card, build your own sets of GM soundfonts pieced together from the hundreds and hundreds of sites that offer free specialized sounds (pianos, EP's, horns, strings, kits'), whole free GM soundfont banks , and various free soundfont building and editing SW. Time consuming but might get you a really few decent sets of sounds and it will be a lot better than MS GS. I hope next year is better than last year for you! Happy New Year
