Greetings,
Im getting ready to buy a Macbook Air 13, I have just purchased the RME Babyface, which while expensive, has incredible sound.
So, my question is this: To those of you who have heard both the regular and Audiophile version of BIAB, just what is the real difference in audio quality?? Yes I want the very best sound possible, and I'm not afraid to spend the money to get it. I just want to make sure there is a very clear difference. Is it just a higher sample or bit rate? or not compressed at all?

I haven't heard the audiophile version, but I think they are uncompressed audio files. You could contact sales - they'd probably allow the 30 day money-back return if you weren't happy with it (you'd have to pay return shipping)

I dont have a MAC but just upgraded to the Audiophile version for Windows. 'I' can hear a big difference, but some might not. There is close to 700GB of data on the USB drive.
In addition, I bought a 1TB drive ($128) to use as my day-to-day use drive and keep the PG one stored away...but that's me. You can use the PG drive directly, but I feel better having a backup drive.

Hi
If you're going for the best sound, - don't hestitate, buy it. You've got high-end computer and high-end soundcard. If you've got high-end speakers too, you shure can hear the difference. If you plan to use BIAB for studio projects you'll find the sound more 'airy' and especially when you're summing at lot of tracks there's a difference.

I spent the extra $100 and have the audiophile version and also have a recording studio  I have spent quite some time comparing the 2 -- both the compressed .wma files and the corresponding .wav files that are not compressed. There is a BIG difference in sound, but then again, I have the equipment and I haven't damaged my ears either. You might notice a big difference or not, but a little difference is greatly multiplied as the dBs go up on a HiFi or HD system especially with surround sound.
