Did I start a new thread?
Getting BIAB to generate a solo is OK, but if I want a soloist to adhere more rigidly to the melody of the song, how do I do that? Do I have to attach a keyboard and play what I want, or can I tap in the notes somewhere?
Also, what is the difference between a SHOT ( C..) and a HOLD (C...)? I have tried both in a song and could not see any difference.

Hi Paddy,
If you are using a midi generated solo, it's possible to use the Notation Editor or Piano Roll Mode to change the notes in any way whatsoever. If, however, you are using a Realtrack generated solo, there is no way within BIAB to modify that. It is possible to keep on generating the solo and parts of the solo, though, until you get something that works.

Dear Paddy,
in the past the lads have used several methods for this, that involved bohran and semtex.
Say no more. Of course in the jokes the latter is ok. Don't pull out the other.

In the old days, I'd get them drunk (they'd pass out) and I did the solo myself, the way I wanted it
