I tried using the Jukebox today in a live performance and immediately ran into a problem. I was playing a medley of songs for the audience to sing to and I must have clicked on a chord because the next song wouldn't load and I got the "song has changed, do you want save" message. When this happened the Jukebox was cancelled and I lost the flow from one song to another. I was faced with the choice of making the audience wait while I restarted the Jukebox and advancing through with the arrow until I was back in sync, or loading each song manually. Either way meant the sing-a-long was a washout. The same thing has happened while rehearsing when I have accidently touched the foot pedal which sends a space bar signal that stops the song.

It would be great if you could "freeze" the Jukebox or even better stop and start it without cancelling, otherwise it is a bit too risky for a live performance and I am loathe to try it again.

Tony,

I totally get where you are coming from but maybe a work around would be to set your playlist up with only 5 or so tunes in a folder and have the jukebox play them before starting the next folder. I have done that in the past but I do play folders with many more tunes very often, but I do stop the jukebox after 4-5 songs on my own just to give a little pause to the show. As I have found that after 5 or so tunes starting within 5 - 10 seconds from the last tune played it is time for a little pause.

Of course if we can become disciplined enough as to not touch the keys or pedals this issue should be null and void.

Good Luck,

Thanks Danny

That's exactly how I did it - 5 songs in a separate folder. It is still a problem if the Jukebox crashes.

Did you contact PG Support with this issue? Another thing I was thinking it might have something to do with your operating system, either way PG Support should be able to set you on the right track.

Keep us posted on your results and I hope they are favorable.

Tony,

I played an entire 1 hour gig yesterday using the jukebox with a 10 second delay between songs and it did the job without a glitch. I did split it up into 25%/quarters as follows:

4 folders of 5-6 songs per folder timed to total the 60 minutes for the entire gig.

The only boxes I have checked in my jukebox window are "Auto Choose Soloist" and "Change Soloist Instrument with each chorus" and I am not sure these even have to be checked as I think it was a default. I also enter the timing in-between songs in the "Delay/Seconds in-between songs" box.

With this said the only time I will make a manual change while the jukebox is playing is to hit the forward arrow if I have decided the next tune I have programmed is not right for the moment at hand, other than that I just let'er run.

Later,

There has been a bug in Jukebox for about eight years. If you hit the pause button then play,
the next song will not start - current song loops.

If i stop the jukebox, i always highlight the next song and click the restart button I like to set the juke box to start with the space bar, not much problem, and it allows me to change volumes, and even guitars sometimes, at a relaxed pace.

Thanks Robh but I don't quite understand, perhaps you could spell it out. Where exactly do you highlight the next song and what is the "restart" button. Are you saying you have a way of restarting the Jukebox from where you stopped it without reloading the Juke box and clicking through the green arrow NEXT buttons?

My bad Tony, i was thinking of RealBand, not BiaB. RB has a feature in the jukebox called "Restart the jukebox from highlighted song" It also allows you to start and stop with the space bar, as well as the timed delay feature.

Some times i get the two programs scrambled in me thick head.

I just knew it was reasonable of me to ask for an improvement to the Jukebox and obviously P&G think so also because Realband already has basically what I was getting at. Why on earth would the two programs be different?

I herby change my wish to....

"Please add the RB jukebox restart features to BIAB"
