I've recently upgraded to BB12 and I'm also thinking of switching from my old Symbian mobile (Yes I know I'm behind the times...) to Android - one consideration for this being BBRemote (as opposed to the Android version of BB). Until now I've been using a remote BlueTooth mouse to enable me to start and end when I'm recording live instruments/vocals for example.

But one thing that concerns me about BBRemote is that the minimal write-up given says it needs a local network or the web. My network security box (locked in for 3 years) is not wireless enabled, so I'd have to connect a cable to the android phone. Or I'd have to use the web and set up some sort of tunnel to allow it to access BB.

Is the interface too complex to allow BBRemote to send instructions by Bluetooth? As a non-developer I'm not aware of the issues involved, but it seems a big requirement to need a network simply to use a remote control?

Can anyone enlighten me on any of these issues?

Thanks
