Hi All, I have recently obtained IK Multimedia StealthPedal and am trying to use it as my audio interface with Realband [and/or PowerTracks], so far without success. My system is Windows XP and in RB in the ASIO Audio Drivers window I have the latest IK StealthPedal ASIO Driver [Ver. 1.0.0.8] selected., whilst in the Preferences/Audio window 'Enable input monitoring [ASIO only]' is checked.
In order to record, I have an audio track selected where I select 'Edit DX' and then 'Input Monitor Insert' and select Amplitube 3 as plugin and a suitable Amp 3 preset. If I now play my guitar through StealthPedal I can hear it in Rband/Amp3. If I now select Record [or Record Audio], recording sequence starts but track does not go pink and at the end of 'recording take', nothing has been recorded although I am asked 'Keep Take'.
If, before attempting to record, I select VU Meters, I get an 'Access Violation message for module RealBand' and Rband freezes and I have to Ctrl/Alt/Delete to get out.
If I have my other, Creative Audigy Platinum, Audio interface selected I am able to record successfully using the procedure described above.
Some time ago I tried using IKM STOMPIO as an audio interface with RealBand/PTracks but with even less success [if that is possible!]
I am presently talking to Support about this but wondered if there is anyone successfully using StealthPedal with Rband or PTracks who may be able to advise on how I may resolve my problems.
Many thanks.
Regards, Peter J

Tried checking (enabling) Record IM in the same Audio Prefs window? What happens?
Have you made the Track an audio track? Right click and change track type to Audio before recording. Is the Stealth the *only* selection hilighted in the Audio Input Drivers window?
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Hi rharv and John [Silvertones],
Thank you for your replies which I will deal with separately.
rharv --- Yes, I have Enable Input Monitoring ASIO checked in the Audio/Preferences window and with 'input monitor insert' selected under Edit DX for the Audio Track to be recorded, I can hear my guitar through Stealth Pedal/RealBand/Amplitube 3 but when I select record nothing records and RealBand freezes. Also if I access VU meters, prior to record, an access violation message appears and RealBand freezes.
rharv --- Yes, I am selecting audio tracks and have used mono and stereo with no difference.
rharv --- Yes, StealthPedal is the only item selected in the Audio input drivers window.
John ---- I am pleased to know that you have StealthPedal and RealBand working together happily so it would appear that there is a solution to my problem if I can only find it!!! PG Support have now given up on me as their last advice was as follows : --- ' There is not much that can be done. Your settings are valid and good, the program simply does not like the driver you are using. You can try using the ASIO4all driver with the device if the native driver is being refused.' Clearly, your successful set up would refute this and I am not sure that ASIO4all would be a solution as it appears to call up my Creative Audigy inputs and outputs and not those for StealthPedal.
I looked at your other thread and accessed Control Panel/.../Hardware but on my Windows XP system could not find any reference to 'do not map with this device'. Were you suggesting that this might be the solution for me and if so could you please walk me through it? One thing I did find by looking at Hardware was that I had two versions of the StealthPedal Driver present [1.0.0.1 and 1.0.0.8] so I have disabled the first one. According to Windows, StealthPedal is connected and working properly --- which would appear to be correct as far as my version of Cubase Essential 5 is concerned as they work fine together. Also the default Audio device in Windows is the Creative Audigy with no option for change.
I wonder whether there are any settings in the Preferences/Audio window of RealBand that I have incorrectly checked, unchecked or otherwise filled in which is causing the problem. One thing I have noticed is that when I open the Stealth Pedal ASIO Driver Control Panel, the ASIO Driver Open and Streaming boxes are unchecked and cannot be checked. The input ports are [0,1]IK StealthPedal Input 1 and IKS Input 2 with outputs being [0,1]IKS Output 1 and IKS Output 2 and both inputs and outputs are black highlighted.
I am sorry that this post is so long but I would appreciate any help in resolving my problem that may be available. Thank you..
Regards, Peter J

Peter.I'll try to give you a step by step ASAP.BTW when I read your post I had a mild brain failure. I have the IKMultimedia Stealth Interface not the Stealth Pedal. SHOULD be the same though. I shall return later.

The Stealth doesn't have that check box or a properties page as you said.So........... I don't know what to say to help not having the exact one. You might try a reinstall of the Stealth drivers after first uninstalling them. Wish I could help more.

Just tried mine again to confirm. OK a long shot in the dark. When you pull the drop down to assign Amplitube3 have you first used the "Add VST plugin..." that's at the bottom? I know, and this is a bug, that Amplitube3 shows up on the list already but that one doesn't work right and will lock things up. The wrong one is "VST AmpliTube 3" the right one, if you added it correctly will be listed again at the bottom as " < VST > AmpliTube 3 "

John,
Thank you for your prompt replies.
I have checked the Amplitube 3 selections that I am using in the Add VST Plugin box and it is the correct one, " < VST > AmpliTube 3 " ,as you suggested [which is in fact the only one that I have ]. One thing I did discover however is that in RealBand 'Add VST Plugin' does not appear to work although it is OK in PowerTracks!!! I have a long list of added plugins in PT but only Amplitube 3 and 2 in RBand.
The Stealth Pedal that I have is the latest CS version which is an Audio Interface and guitar footpedal. The CS refers to Custom Shop and the pedal comes with additional software but I believe the pedal itself should be no different from yours.
When you first started using StealthPedal and RealBand/PowerTracks together, did you have initial teething problems or did yours function correctly from the start?
Regards, Peter J

John, Many thanks for your post at IKM which I saw. I thought it might be useful to broaden the scope, hence my IKM post, as so far you are the only person I know of successfully using Stealth Pedal and I am the only one with problems and I cannot believe that we are the only ones with this setup.
Previously I had the same problem with STOMPIO [the predecesor to StealthPedal] and after approaching both IKM and PG Support did not get a satisfactory resolution as both blamed the other's software and, to be honest, PG Support at that time did not appear to be aware of STOMPIO as a possible interface. I would hope that now PG are including Amplitube 3 Free wth BIAB and RealBand that there would be more desire from both companies to resolve the problem. As StealthPedal will obviously be IKM's preferred Audio interface with their software, I would have thought that they would be keen for resolution to encourage BIAB and RB users, future and present, to purchase the pedal. As you say however I will likely have to be patient.
Your efforts in this matter are very much appreciated.
Regards, Peter J
