Wondering, when uploading songs to places such as YouTube, do (m)any people here give CREDIT mention to the individual "performers" for the RealTracks instruments that are used in their songs? Or not? I ask because I posted an unfinished song somewhere and a couple people said it was good. The thing is, however, I felt kinda guilty knowing that I didn't play all the guitar parts so I did mention that I had help from BIAB. What do some of you folks do? If anything. Thinking about it., I'm leaning towards mentioning the musician(s) who played on the Realtracks.

Rokq,
This has been covered a few times over the years.
In my opinion, it's not accurate to mention the musicians. Realtracks are assembled by PG Music manipulations of recordings of the artists. The musicians involved in your Realtracks did not perform live for you to record. If you had employed the artists and they were recorded in a studio by audio engineers, etc., then it's a different story.
Just my 2 bits worth.
Regards, Noel

Personally I think it's far better to say nothing, cite the software used. Rather than trying to trade on a famous name's musicianship who had no choice whether he performed on your song or not.
I just let it be. i.e. Backing tracks courtesy of PG Music software.

rock22, On my Youtube video's gave credits to PG Music Software. And also the mentors on these forums. On my CD did this and also Pg Music main link. Like maybe few other folks, felt bit guilty using the fabulous tools and not giving credit. Some folks sitting in a dark rooms cranking out code for us to use to make this wonderful music. If you haven't, go to Brent's site. http://www.brentmason.com/And of course other RT performers. Such an honor to have even part of him and others in our songs. And of course the other RT performers.

Yeah, definitely will mention PG Music. In fact, I did that on a message board after someone posted a compliment about some of the guitar work but I know the compliment wasn't for MY rhythm work on a particular song but the unique guitar work which came from the software.

Great questions and even greater answers. There is always the possibility that if a song was done in bad taste some how?
Would the original artist want to be associated with that work any way. Just my thoughts. Rob.

I make up my own names. Sonny Blistervich on Saxophone. Harold "Blue Fingers" Gillespie on the piano, Santo Pantopolis on Trumpet, Wally "Snake Shoes" Sadowski on drums. Stuff like that. Have fun! Like it was said, these guys actually did not record the piece, they added their sounds and PG Music worked the magic.
I like to give BIAB acknowledgement because it is a really neat software program that had it not been invented I would not have been able to make a band! Kudos again to the folks at PGMusic!
