Since I bought my new computer just 3 days ago(Dell XPS 8500}, I was having trouble with my recording on the Realtec sound card built in computer. I finally got it working somewhat but wasn't satisfied, so I just ordered a new USB audio interface. It is a Presonus Audiobox 44VSL. Does anyone have any experience with any Presonus product. I just went with with what the saies person recomened. I hope I can play my keyboard without too much latency. I was looking at Tascam interfaces but he told me that the presonus was better quality. Let me know what you think. Thanks occ

Yes, I did once. When I used a roland 2480 I had a presonus interface for connecting to the computer.
It worked well enough but they never wrote drivers for the next o s.
They kept promising for weeks months probably over a year and it became clear they weren't going to deliver.
They did, however, offer a refund in the way of a credit toward any other presonus gear.

I know Tascam has been an industry leader in the past for recording equipment. But they CAN NOT do software!
their drivers are OK on some systems but not on all and they've improved this some over the years but not enough, IMO. they still have driver problems with some systems and so I never recommend Tascam soundcards to anyone.
That and I'm still bitter at them over the Gigastudio fiasco.
regardless, you're much better off with the presonus! be glad you went that way.

I just got a Presonus AudioBox USB, their most basic model, I think, to go with my new system. After some initial issues I'm quite pleased. I had hoped to bring either a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (from my old DAW) or a TASCAM US-224 (from my laptop) to the table, but same deal--no effective drivers. 'S okay; this way I have a soundcard for all three machines. I still use the old PC for certain tasks.

I'm looking forward to getting the Presonus AudioBox. I haven't been able to do any recording. I have some folk waiting on me to get started. HopeI don't have too much trouble getting started. Rysard, if I have any trouble, I may contact you for help. occ
