Hi all,
Again, this just may be a lack of knowledge on my part, but if, for example, I want to raise the trumpets
an octave for an entire song (I'm starting off on a Real Book BIAB song), is there a simple way to do it?

Tell more.
Are the trumpets on the melody or harmony tracks that you put in, or one of the "band" tracks that BIAB writes?
Are the trumpets Midi or RealTracks?

If they are MIDI tracks, it's easy. Export to a sequencer, DAW or Real Tracks and transpose them +12 semitones. If they are RTs, someone else needs to chime in. So far my experiments in that have resulted in "munchkinization". If there is a good way, I'd like the answer too! Opt|Preferences|Channels
There is an Octave box for each part. Putting a +1 in the desired part should do it.

If it's a MIDI track, there's also [ Melody/Soloist > Edit Melody/Soloist Track > Utilities > Transpose one octave UP/DOWN ].
