I play live and use BiaB for drums and my 2nd Keyboard synthizer (sax horns ect.). We run the drums through the Pa and Pa subs but want the 2nd Keyboard sounds only through my keyboard amp. We now panning left and right for drums and Keyboard and it somewhat works but the paning options bleeds 2nd keyboard sounds onto the drums which ends up in the ear monitors (drums and vocals). If I could split out Midi ch 10 to Midi out then I could run drum machine, better sound and no bleed problem. I've been looking around and still trying to export Ch10 drums to External Machine and still use internal Software Synths for my Roland controler midi in Keyboard sounds. It all seems to boil down to no "real" Midi Mapper within XP or anyting after 98. So -- Looks like BiaB depended on the Midi Mapper within the old 95 or 98 windows to complete this task and no new programing was done to offer this option for the newer windows.
So is there any other way to make this happen with out loading windows 95 or 98????????? If I load 98 will BiaB 2012 run or do I have to go to a back ver of BiaB?????????????
Thanks roger

Can't be done in BIAB but you can load the BIAB tunes directly into RB and you can do it there.

RB would work if we played the songs the same each time, but they all change depending on the mood of the lead singer and amount of people on dance floor and other things, sometimes we just screw up and have to wing a repair. Thanks for the replay still stuck for a good answer. roger

I really don't get what you mean. Yes BIAB will generate mildly different feel but the chords, part markers, everything really stays the same.If you use the conductor in BIAB then you can change things around but you can also do that in RB.

I just spent most of the day playing around with RB I almost think it would work for us,+ has some additional benefits. But I don't like the way it handles the midi thru channel. I need to use the computer soft synth for my 2nd keyboard sounds. 2 problems, first I can not program keyboard patch changes in to RB that occur with in the song like I can with BiaB. Also Keyboard sounds patch seems to depend on what ever track is selected in RB, it does load the correct patch but will not play it unless proper track is selected with a mouse click. It make me nervous to think may start playing live and find the drum track selected and just a bunch of drum sounds from my second keyboard. Maybe some more time and it will work it self out. I have not given up yet but discourage. I am leaning now to look for a old copy of 98 sp2 and load it and try the old Midi Mapper, some threads say you can split channels within. thanks for the support hope for some more suggestions roger

You need to use Global Thru vs Track Specific. Now also pull up a song in RB. And lets say you're controller is transmitting on Channel#1 to the soft synth. Now you want patches to change automatically while the song is playing.Set up an empty track as midi. Assign it to midi channel#1.Then either with the piano roll or the event list editor enter your patch changes at the appropriate places.

Is you PA a stereo system? If so, the track pans within BIAB should position track with sufficient separation to avoid bleeding of tracks. That is your problem, right?

I think in another thread, someone mentioned using an M-Audio MIDI Sport 2x2 in Realband to send the MIDI output of a given track to the 2x2 (2 MIDI ports). I use an M-Audio 4x4 MIDI Sport Anniversary Edition (4 ports because I need the extra ports. Other units are available (e.g., MOTU, with more ports), but they are more expensive. The M-Audio MIDI Sport 2x2 Anniversary (Sweetwater.com, $69) may be sufficient for what you need, assuming you just want to send drums to one device, and the other instruments to your keyboard.
I have used the 4x4 successfully in Realband, but have not discovered a way to do the same thing in BBW. I have however, submitted a request via Peter's thread for BBW MIDI wishes to include multiple MIDI ports so each instrument (drums, piano, etc.) can be output to different ports/channels.
I also use the MIDI Sport 4x4 in SONAR with multiple ports.
Hope this info is of some use,
Richard

Thanks for all the replies I think I got it up and working, will try it on practice this week. Just like the BiaB RB has a learning curve, I think I got a handle on it for now, but more to understand. Roger
