Does anybody know how to trim tracks in RB? I haven't seen any references to it but perhaps I'm not looking in the right place...

Ah, the elusive trim function. The easiest software that I've used is WavePad (NCH Software) made in your country. It has trim beginning, end, and selection. I think in RB it's just "Cut" which has a drop down menu. Actually, I like the "Trim" being a command of it's own. Before I started using RB, I would just render to .wav in BIAB and do the rest of the stuff in WavePad. I got ticked off at WavePad because I always had to pay for upgrades and also when my computer crashed. so now I no longer use NCH products. YMMV.

Highlight what you want to remove
Edit-Cut (pay attention to 'Keep Gap' or 'Close Gap' radio button selection depending on need)
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Now why didn't I think of that? Thankyou both for your responses; I'll try the highlight and edit-cut idea first and see how I go.

You can also click on the audio edit button right below the dxi button which will bring up the edit window. In there you can zoom in to as much detail as you need. Especially useful if you need to make a crucial cut on a zero crossing. You can highlight from there or you can also click on the from - to boxes and type in a precise bar location for where you cut starts and ends. Then use the cut command. Another thing I've learned to watch in the cut and in the paste command box is the part markers check box. If you're cutting one track and don't want that to effect the part markers for the whole song - leave unchecked. I've gotten my part markers so messed up that I couldn't regenerate a new track that matched the original song layout without a bunch of hassle. So be aware of the checkboxes. LOL!

Two things: firstly Rharv, your suggested method worked a treat so thanks very much, and secondly, thanks Sundance for another perspective on the scale at which a person might work. The (simple) job I did just now didn't need audio edit window detail but the idea's tucked away now and it'll come out when it's time.
