Please forgive me for double posting this but it is applicable in BIAB as well as Realband.
I have entered a bunch of note based lyrics into a melody track. I realized as I got close to completing the entry of the lyrics, I forgot about a one bar fill after the 1st verse and I need to shift all of the note based lyrics one bar to the right at that point. I have tried using the events list but I can't seem to insert an event that will shift all of my lyrics one bar forward. My mistake was made at bar 20 so the next 100 bar lyrics are in the wrong position.

Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd,

The way that I'd solve this is to go "Lyrics | Edit lyrics as event list" on the top menu bar. This will take you to something like below.

Now double-click on the lyric you want to change and then change the bar number (highlighted) by increasing it one (say 11 becomes 12, etc.).

Regards,
Noel

This won't take that long to do when you get into the swing of it.

Play around with 'Edit / Insert Bar(s)' and 'Edit / Nudge Chords, Melody ...'. Just make sure to nudge towards negative values after inserting some bar(s). Works here and provides some nifty shortcut to your endeavor.

Have fun

Under the "Lyrics" heading on the menu bar is a line that says "time shift Lyrics" you can move them ahead by "ticks" 120 ticks = a beat. This seems to be the easy way, I've done it a number of times when I make the same mistake.

There's a simple way, which works on mine (2011).

In the edit menu, use "Copy From...To..."

Enter the bar # where the lyrics you want to move begin (Copy From Bar #). Then enter the number of bars of lyrics you want to move (Num Bars to Copy). Then enter the new beginning bar # (Copy to Bar #).
Select only "Copy Lyrics" and make sure everything else is correct, for example, un-select "Copy 1st Chorus to whole song".

You should get a message saying thet lyrics already exist and do you want to erase them? - answer yes. After the lyrics are moved, you will have one extra bar of lyrics at the old beginning position bar. Easy to delete that one.

Make sure you have a backup copy first.

Great option. There's even "Insert Beat(s) in Lyrics ...".

Way better than this 'nudge gymnastics'.

"Insert Beat(s) in Lyrics ...".

Missed that one. Much easier than my idea.

Live and learn! That's what I like about BIAB, there's always something I didn't know lurking around a corner. This is much better than my solution.
