Not sure if this should be here or in Tips & Tricks since the issue sort of has elements of both...but here goes. (Sorry in advance if this has to be moved).

IMHO one of the most advanced skills is the tweaking of "grooves" in the final arrangement. There are PLENTY of swing...shuffle..funk etc. groove styles but there are LOTS of others that...as far as I know...have to be created using the "dots method" and other stuff like pushes etc.

But I think it would be a GREAT service if some of the most experienced users would post techniques for creating other grooves and I'll just name a few so you'll get the idea. (I'm a blues dog but I assume that some/most/all of these would have applications in jazz too.)

I would also NOTE that some of the below groovers might already exist in certain styles...but just with other names...or even the same names that I haven't found yet.

Anyway...here are a few..

Tramp
6-9
Box Pattern
"Mustang Sally"
Flat Tire
Last Night
Bo Diddley
Tean Beat
Second Line (New Orleans)
John Lee Hooker
Train

What I'm suggesting is that someone post, say, 4 bars of a chord sheet showing what BIAB features would be used to create those specific grooves.

THANKS!!!

Jim

NOTE: I get it that many/most of these grooves are highly dependant on the BASS and that there may be no way to "force" a given bass line which may not exist in the current style sets by using biab arrangement features like dots etc.
