Well all goes well the bride and I and the mutt will head south on the 15th of October. Looking for some colour. Start at Buffalo I guess, cross at Niagara, and head south. My a77 camera and lenses and some storage, and I'm thinking one stop to visit my cousin in Richmond, but probably the Smoky Mountains Parkway and then scoot back up the I77 or I95.
So should I blow the wad on the satellite sound system for our Mini Cooper, or just wing it with my standard BMW type sound system stuck on the country at times and PBS at times radio?
We thought of Europe, or the West Coast, but I've got this nice new dawgy, and don't want to leave her for that long. And the US seems to have lots of motel chains where they are ok with mutts. She's just turned 16 weeks, but is trained as long as I take her out and remember to empty the water bowl by 7 p.m. (she might wake me to go, but that's hit and miss).
Places I should see? I might or might not rent a car. My 2002 Chevy pickem up truck is too old for this trip, too bad. I'd buy a new truck but don't like new pickups. Picky eh?
WE have shot the I95 many times, to Key West, as far west as New Orleans, and we've travelled from Boston North on the coast. NYC, well I went there every year 2 or 3 times and it's old pork pie hat.
I'm hoping for fall colours, nice parks, vistas, and tranquil. NO cities to speak of. I can get the guest house in Richmond for whenever, the cuz is loaded, he married cash and she's cute too. I can see like Hose-eh that I'm gettin grits in ma teeth. Or under them.
So leave on the 13 of October, and home on the 28th. Good stretch I think. Cuba in February. And England in May. Hope my doc can keep me on the right side of the sod.
