Hej,
BIAB har ikke de bedste lydflader med hensyn til klassiske instrumenter(strygere, obo, harpe etc.) Jeg har forespurgt ved PG music om der kommer noget real band inden for klassiske instrumenter. Det er nok ikke tilfældet. Men PG forhandler et klassisk instrument lydbibliotek som hedder garritan. Er der nogen som har erfaringer med dette program?

Jeg regner med, at du tænker på den medfølgende softsynth CoyoteWT, da MIDI stilarterene i sig selv ikke afgiver lyd. Du har fuldstændig ret, den lyder ikke helt tidssvarende! Men i BIAB er der jo nu mulighed for at bruge forskellige software instrumenter/softwaresynths til hvert spor og specielt med de nye SuperTracks er der mulighed for at lave fantastisk lyd. Jeg vil til enhver tid anbefale brugen af softwareinstrumenter/synths fremfor hardware (lydmoduler).
Har du hørt det nye cello RealTrack? Det lyder rigtig godt. Man må håbe der bliver lavet flere og i forskellige tempi og stilarter.
Jeg er den glade ejer af to Garritan biblioteker (jazz og klassisk). Man får valuta for pengene. De lyder godt, men det skal siges, at jeg ikke bruger dem sammen med BIAB, da de ligger på min "studiemaskine (iMac)og jeg venter med at tilføje "de rigtige lyde" til sporene er overført til Cubase. Der findes efter sigende biblioteker, som lyder bedre og kan mere, men de er også væsentligt dyrere. Garritan bibliotekerne vil dække de flestes behov for god lyd.

Hej Lindbjerg.
Tak for hurtigt svar. Jeg bruger reaper(anbefalet af dig og den er jeg glad for) når jeg laver den endelige redigering. Det jeg ikke fatter med hensyn til garritan er hvordan man laver en melodi. Jeg har checket deres hjemmeside, men forstår ikke helt hvordan man kommer igang. Skriver man akkorder ind? Eller hvad fortæller fek.s Garritan strygerne hvilken melodi de skal spille?

Garritan er et lydbibliotek med en (sampler) afspiller (ARIA) og kan således ikke frembringe melodilinjer. Melodi eller andet skal være MIDI, som du sender til Band-in-a-Box eller, hvis du alligevel sender BIAB til DAW, Reaper.
I Band-in-a-Box gør således: Åbn mixeren - Tryk "Plugins" - Vælg spor og tryk og åbn dialogen "VST/DX Synths/Plugins (synths i første slot" Vælg synth, fx Garritan. Garritans ARIA afspiller åbner, og du skal der vælge spor og instrument. I Reaper skal du vælge Garritan som Output. Jeg er ikke særlig godt bekendt med Reaper, men prøv manualen.

Hej Lindbjerg.
Altså:
1) Jeg indtaster akkorder, vælger style, tempo etc i BIAB som jeg plejer.
2) Jeg vælger melodi i melody maker som skal være en midi
3a) Jeg åbner mixer i BIAB(sidder ikke hjemme og kan ikke huske om der er mixer i BIAB) og følger din vejledning
eller
3b) I RB åbner jeg sangen jeg lige har lavet, markerer midi melodi linjen, åbner mixeren og følger din vejledning.

ad 2) Ja, eller indspiller/indtaster melodi. Melodisten er altid MIDI.
ad 3) Ja. Der er en Mixer i BIAB (fra version 12 (?))
ad 3b) Ja
Angående tålmodighed. Band-in-a-Box er et program , som man hurtigt kan komme i gang med. Hvis man ser det for første gang kan man producere et playback i løbet af en halv time. Meeen, det er også et uhyre komplekst program, som har utallige muligheder. At de ofte skal hentes i dialoger langt under "overfladen" gør det ikke lettere. Så selv om man har arbejdet med programmet i mange år, vil man altid kunne finde nye muligheder og funktioner. Så derfor: Der findes ikke dumme spørgsmål, kun software, som er kringlet og kompliceret. Bare at holde styr på de forskellige stiltyper i BIAB!

Hej Lindbjerg.
Ja du har ret. Det kan knageme meget. Din vejledning har hjulpet. Jeg har læst i Garritan manualen, så det sammen med din vejledning har ført til at jeg vil købe programmet. At købe hardware hjem fra Canada er dyrt på grund af told. Det har jeg erfaret et par gange. Man kan også downloade, men det er en ordentlig mundfuld. Endelig er der en dansk forhandler som hedder Q note.
Har du en anbefaling der? Tror jeg foretrækker programmet på en disc.
