Okay, I think BIAB is a great product, however, I just purchased the previous version of BIAB, and within six months they release a new version. So, I wrote to PG MUSIC and stated that I thought it was wrong to charge full price for an upgrade, considering the fact that I just purchased the software less than six months ago. I think they should do free upgrades, UNLESS it is a Major upgrade. Then it should be offered at discounted price, like most other companies. I feel that there is no concern with customers who already purchased the product. Full price for an upgrade? Really?

There is no UI improvements (it still looks like something some rookie programmer would have created in the 80's) it is definitely not the most user friendly software out there. Sorry PG, I like the idea of the software and I think it is great for many reasons, but, if you do not offer discounted upgrades, I think you've got your heads facing the wrong direction.

We are musicians, and you have created a product that benefits us, thank you for that, but please reconsider the way you present your product.

What are you talking about the upgrade price is $49.00, well discounted from the prior full version.

Yes, it looks like you only have to pay $49 for the program update from 2012 to 2012.5 (and it is only $49 because the midi super tracks are involved) or $129 to get all the extra 101 realtracks also. That is a lot less than full price: http://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htm

As others have noted, the upgrade is sold at FAR less than the full price. In addition, you don't have to buy the upgrade...or a new full version for that matter.

Quite a few folks make do with what they have for a year or two...or until some feature or set of features are offered that the user considers "must haves" at which point...you pay the price and get what you pay for. (-:

Personally, I have no problem with the way PG prices its products. To each his own, of course.

Regards,
Jim

I've never had a problem paying the upgrade prices twice a year and I'm in the high rent district with the audiophile version. I'm willing to pay the price because I feel like what I get in return is worth the investment, and if I didn't, I would simply pass on the upgrade. Another part of the equation is that I feel like as long as PG music has the cash flow from the upgrades, the new styles and implovements will keep coming.

I love folks that read the info before blowing a gasket...

I am a "every 2 year" upgrader because, well, it takes me that long to exhaust the RT!
